Mozart goes ROCK! :)
A new listing has arrived, and I have made a rock version of Mozarts Alla Turca. What do you think?www.alexanderorest.com - ALLA TURCA ROCK MP3Direct link: http://alexanderorest.com/alexanderores ... mp3"PUBLIC DOMAIN CLASSICAL PIECES a la Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, etc. are needed by an Independent Record Label for a "whacked-out" Classical Box Set project for kids that they are currently working on. This company has signed dozens of TAXI writers for use on projects distributed by Sony/BMG, Universal, EMI, etc. They would like to hear interesting and unusual renditions of classical compositions and are willing to consider almost anything that is off the beaten path. Some examples they gave are jazzed up versions of a Bach Prelude or Fugue (a la Claude Bolling) or a saxophone quartet (with or without a rhythm section) or a rock version of a movement of a Mozart piece"

Re: Mozart goes ROCK! :)
hey Orest,Another beautiful classical piece from U yea! I have a few suggestions on the rock side of things if U don't mind? It's just my opinion but I think it might spice things up a little, I don't know, it's just what I feel... here goes:1) Let the drums come in only on the 10sec point... from 1-9 secs just have the hi hats... no kick no snare.2) From the 41sec point where U have the double kicks coming in, I would like to hear a heavily distorted guitar doin 2 jabs on the first two beats for 8 bars... then the next 8 bars the same guitar holds down the chords.I would be honored to play some guitars on Ur track ^_^Fantastic track U got here!Regards,-Kel

hey orest!!i think stylistically you've hit the nail on the head!! i don't have ANY problem with what you have...but i can hear what Kel is saying too...just depends on the style you want to end up with--damn, the listing is pretty OPEN, no? oh, i'd turn up the drums a bit, and the guitar too, as well as the harmony...but i'm no producer, just what i'm hearing...good luck, nice piece that seems to fit my ears!!the best, warren

I see what I can do! I didn't want it to sound too much hard rock. I think if you want to get the ears of a younger audience, than you might want to consider a rock version rather than a jazz version. Thanks for your advices!

Hi Orest...Sounds great... the only thing that gives me pause is this line from the listing...."for a "whacked-out" Classical Box Set"...even though you've added the guit & drums the treatment seems pretty straightforward.... don't know exactly what they want here.... how old are the "kids"? 5 year olds and teenagers would get different styles...Enjoyed the listen...Peace, Geo
