I have remixed my song Break Apart - Feedback?

Post by annathomas » Wed Mar 04, 2009 6:20 pm

I am a 13 year old singer songwriter and have remixed my song "Break Apart". You can find it at this link including the lyrics. I would love any additional feedback as I used what some had suggested on this new mix. Thank you!http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.ph....sion INDEX=2979

Anna, Great mix!! Your production is really good from my perspective. Hopefully someone else will chime in on production. I like the harmony guitar (maybe it's a bass?) on your right. The only thing I can hear to improve it is to add a little more production to the chorus to make it stand out a little more. The melody seems to be the only thing that changes between the lift and the chorus. Maybe add fuller keyboards or something during the chorus? I love the groove. I'm digging it.Andy

I really like the song, but I think you can increase the vocalpart a few db. A tip I don´t know if you know is Lower the overall volume so you hardly can´t hear anything. Listen to the vocal. you should still hear every word clear. This is just my opinion.Kind regards

hard to believe you're only 13!i'm totally diggin' this tune, very groovy, current, kind of a fiona apple vibe to it.i would like to hear the vox a little louder in the mix, i like andy's sugg to add more production to the chorus to make it really shine.overall, great job!marc

Wow! Really nice and groovy tune! If you make songs this good at your age, there is no telling how far you can take your music in the future! I would love to hear the vocal more in front so we can hear these lovely words even more! I think if you pan the organ right and left it would be even more fuller in the sound image. The production is very clear and I think it's broadcast quality, maybe as the others are saying, make the chorus a bit stronger. NICE WORK!

GREAT FEEDBACK. We are going to have a chance to tweak further this month...I also have an arrangement that is piano driven in a half time swing - same tempo...Great ideas and feedback...thanks to you all!
