WHEW!!! 2 more forwards in Hip Hop INST

Post by che » Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:22 am

This is the listing we just received a forward on todayDark and threatening/suspenseful HIP HOP INSTRUMENTALS needed by an East Coast Music Library/Publisher who has signed and placed tons of TAXI songs. He wants the vibe to be one of action and brooding excitement. No party music! He needs interesting drums and/or loop action happening and no samples that require clearance, please. Samples used should be of excellent quality - nothing cheap or "canned". Broadcast quality needed--Great sounding home recordings are just fine. (Meaning they will use your version - they won't re-record anything). Here's what we submitted http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=1Sure feels good to at least make it to round 2!***We would LOVE any feedback seeing as these listings are the no critique type. We are going through critique withdraw!!!! Please help

Starting to get my feelings hurt You all are depriving someone going through Critique withdrawl of a fix. Maybe there's not enough people who are comfortable with commenting on hip hop. Was asking for feedback on if you think it fits good with the listing, not really if you like it or not. I do understand that it's an acquired taste We have some listings pending that do give critiques.....can't wait til they come back.

Hey Che,Congratulations on your forwards! Just curious, why would you need anyone else to critique anything if it's already been forwarded? And it's possible there might be a great deal of folks who might not be comfortable commenting on hip-hop, but there's enough hip-hoppers around, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time.First tune sounds on the mark ta' me! Sounds dark & threatening enough. I don't know about the "action" and "brooding excitement" part though.Second tune has the same vibe as well. Both have the right dark & threatening vibe to 'em. I think to capture the "action & excitement" vibe, you'll have to up the tempo. If you have available, take a listen to some of the action tracks in a movie like "Blade:Trinity" or any of "The Matrix" movies. I'm pretty sure those movies have the kind of tracks that really fit a description like that. You can get an idea of the kinds of tempos that are used for the car chase/fight scenes. HTH.I-468

I-468I don't really NEED a critique, but like feedback.... even if it's been forwarded. Sometimes it helps to hear others opinion. Like when you mentioned "action" and "brooding excitement". We didn't focus so much on that part of the listing, we focused more on the "Dark and threatening/suspenseful". Seeeeeeee it helps to have input. We are trying to be better at encompassing all or most of what they ask for, instead of getting stuck on a few key parts of the listing ( that best suites what we likee:-) )I had a pout lip for a minute. I saw other forward listings getting replys and Boo Hoo we didn't have any. SO, thanks for making me SMILE again.
