I took another listen this morning and this song has some of the magic of the early 60s girl groups yet it's thoroughly modern. The singer is perfect. I'm not sure the doubled vocals at the beginning are necessary. I like the chord change at :39, it keeps you interested wondering where it's going next. Likewise the change at 2:15 hooks you back in just when you think it's running out of steam.Very nice Warren.Cam

hey warren,I think you've got some real strong melodies here man! and like how you had them switch back from doubled to single vocal tracks.I can see what blue is saying on the verse/chorus... and I really could here the verse sped up as dance song.. I think having the minor verse / major chorus satisfies the need for contrast which is good.. so I like it as is because the change grabs you. I think what Blue is saying would make it more of a modern pop, straight commercial sound which may be a good thing.oh yeah like the "shhhh" lyric too. good stuff!

thanks casey--yep, i own the whole thing lock stock and barrel, like with almost all my tunes--EXEPT some of the early country ones if they want to use the actual song--that music house if someone wants it, requires bucks--i don't pay--the party buying party has to, already checked.--but i know what you mean for sure on that!cam, thank you again--trust me, the doubling was my idea on that, because her vocal was NOT that perfect on the phrase, but i had already accepted it with the production idea to double the opening verse on/off/on/off--but yeah, might be too "gimicky" as well. in my mind of insanity, i can hear someone very big singing this, and this vocal will SHOULD be able to sell it, if it saleable. of course....and pat--thank you much for the comments, yeah i like the "shhh" thing too (duh...), actually allot of what i told them to specifically do came out pretty damned well...as long as i don't produce this stuff MYSELF on my crappy machines and no techie stuff, it usually comes out, well, what i would call "good enough" (i know folks hate those words, me too, but at some point it has to be and we need to move to another song!) for someone with ears to say yay or nay...thanks for the listen!! and as far as BBB's suggestion, i can now get a hold of it in my head--maybe i'll ask somebody to try that for me!the best,wh

Warren, I like this. Cool retro sounding performance but also modern at the same time.(Make sense?) I took a tour of your site there and found some real nice songs. I too have always written just because I have somethin' to say, and I'm drawn to that type of music. May not please everyone but it seems to please me. I'm checkin' out your farewell tour. Any way, Damn the torpedos, full speed ahead! Dave Berdoulay

Warren,Nice one. Love the 'crickets lullabye' tag. Like the female vocalist .. good job. Chorus nicely lifted. Bridge is cool. My only nit .. 'stylistically' is the chorus a bit too different from the verse .. too sweet ... not sure .. maybe not ... I'd have to listen more to see how it settled in on me. But, either way, I liked it anyway.Dean

thanks dean and dave (wasn't that a duo--oh, no, that was jan and dean?)AND YOU ARE AMAZING WITHOUT KNOWING IT--both of you,,,,my original line notes to the singer said EXACTLY, "want you to sing this sweet and sexy, but also as sultry as possible", and hell, when i think about it, that may be impossible!! but i did send it back 3 times, then finally said to myself "it's a demo..." and i took it...it's close, but damned, those sweet remarks were right on!sweet things you!! (oh, did squids just show up! LOL...love her too!)the best, warren

Great job, Warren on the composition. Really cool song and I'm a sucker for chick singing groups like Dianna and the Sup's.I won't comment on the production because it's a demo and that's your business.Cool song,Wig
