Bryan,It sounds as though your computer can't keep up with the number of samples you have loaded, either in RAM or streaming from the hard drive. I don't use EWQLSO, but is there some way to purge the unused samples you've loaded? If you're switching articulations (key switching, that would mean you'd have even more samples loaded at any one times, as they'd all have to be available. And with lots of controller data, it all adds up on your system. I don't use Cubase either and I guess it's possible that version 5 will have more efficient handling of memory/CPU. Do you have a meter in your DAW that says what your CPU load is and percentage of max drive read activity? That'd be another clue. Before you trash all your work, I'd experiment with trying to render one track at a time, deleting unused samples, or other ways to reduce the load on your computer. If you're using a relatively new computer and have lots o' RAM, I'd probably also visit the EWQLSO message boards, as there have been lots of reports of misbehaviors and this could be one of the common problems. I know how frustrating this can be, so I'm just trying to offer you some other options to try!Vince

I think you're right Vince. They are taking up a ton of RAM and I do notice that the disk clogs up from time to time as it streams. I have a mac pro with 4 gigs of RAM and the samples are loaded on a fast secondary internal hard drive. Until Snow Leopard comes out and brings the macs up to 64 bits I don't think adding any more RAM would help as it can't be addressed beyond 4 Gigs at 32 bit. I surely hope that Cubase 5 is more efficient as this is really making doing this sort of stuff difficult. But by summer mac's should be 64 bit and then I'll fill er up with the stuff and will probably finally be happy. Thanks Vince,B

After reading these posts and doing some checking, I'm definitely running into a resource issue. With this file loaded I have all of 14MB of available RAM out of 4 gigs. That is why my tail samples are cutting off and most likely why Cubase is blowing up when I'm drawing controller data. Just doesn't have enough wiggle room to do much else. I unloaded all of the close mic's and went back and rendered each line individually again. Sometimes I had to render it a few times to get it to pick everything up. It made a HUGE difference. It still sucks, but it sucks a bit less now.But now I can hear where I need to get in there and massage some velocities in the lines. And I also do need to experiment with more articulations. Definitely in the strings. Going to wait on Cubase 5 for that part.Just uploaded the new slightly less sucky version:Lushhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=217707&stream=trueB
