here's another farewell tour tune, some have said the vocal is not powerful enough, but that can be fixed easily. we were talking over on the other forum about naive stuff....so hell, what an intro: ps: i TRIED to go mainstream on this...LOL...http://www.taximusic.com/download/14442 ... ive.mp3I'm Too Damned NaiveVerse 1You used to brag you were right'bout everything you've seenYou used to say with great insightThat I was so naivePre chorusNow you say you're not in loveYou only love me half as muchSo half of nothin's all you'll get from meChorusWhile you sold your alibisIt took some time to seeI chose to stay through all your liesI tried hard to believeYou warned me you were still a kidI should have listened, should have hidBut now I'm very sureYour heart just can't be curedSo yeah blame me (you see) (blame me)I'm too damned naiveOutro chorus Yeah, I'm too damned naiveBlame meI'm too damned naiveBlame meI'm too damned naiveVerse 2Our whirlwind love spun so fastNo way I could knowWith you there's nothin' meant to lastYour heart's so sour, your love don't showPre chorus 2You're not happy 'less you winWhen I'm gone your head'll spinWhen I'm gone you'll see how tough you'll be

Hi Warren, good song. The strongest part if this song to me is the Outro chorus - very catchy and I would love to hear it go for longer with more instrumentation/build, and I think "I'm too damned naive" would work brilliantly in counterpoint to the second chorus for an extra big lift!I agree about the vocal needing a little more power - that's partly a mix thing I'm sure.tt

thanks tt!damn good points--i love the counterpoint phrasing, and counterpoint harmonies as well, damn wish i would have sung that in my demo to them! but heck, there is ROOM for it, and that is a great idea! i will remember that(if i ever scrape the dough together to redo this one...) oh, on the original mix, it was even SOFTER, so i had them turn the vocal up--really think a more dynamic voice would kill this, but again, and i think by now i'm getting that correctly so, if the song isn't spoon fed and perfect to the customer, it won't get through the screeners, no matter how good we THINK they may be...no cop out BTW, just the way it is--problem is, i have not heard many perfect songs lately, even sloppy stuff being put out production-wise on the radio...all the best, warren
