Wondering if this was the right choice?
So I submitted to this listing:"ALT COUNTRY/AMERICANA SONGS in the range of The Jayhawks, Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, etc., sought by President of successful Music Library/Publishing Company with extensive film and TV Placements (Kill Bill 2, the Punisher, Las Vegas, the Shield, Bones, One Tree Hill, Van Wilder 2 + many more). Whatever the genre, this gentleman is adamant about hooks, so your songs must have them! Original songs only - no covers please. He doesn't want to hear instrumentals right now Ð the songs you submit must have vocals, but please do have instrumental versions available upon request. Broadcast quality needed - great sounding home demos are fine but must sound excellent Ð he is very picky about this. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Wednesday, March 18, 2009. TAXI #S090318AM"I submitted my songs "Jack and Bonneville" and "In front of me"were they a wise choice? I'd love your feedback! You can hear them here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Blimp-Dav ... 7981Thanks!

Dave, Your song "Jack And Bonneville" sure does have a Jayhawks feel to it. Cool tune. The other two bands mentioned in the listing I'm not familiar with. Seems to me that "Americana" covers a pretty wide spectrum of styles and I think both your songs fit the bill. Best of luck to you. Dave B.

Thanks for the feedback!Marc, my friend who is living in Germany added the steel tracks. I'd send him a rough mix, he'd add parts and export the tracks seperately for me to mix em. It was a lot of fun!

Re: Wondering if this was the right choice?
I'd certainly forward 'em both, but I think you already know I'm a fan. I think the vocal needs to come up some relative to the instruments in Jack And Bonneville, or maybe edge the awesome pedal steel down a bit prior to the second chorus. I've heard some of your other stuff, and yes, I think you made a good choice. Good luck, though I doubt you'll need it.
