I'm a big boy and I can take the heat. Hit me with your best shot. This is an American / Country / Rock / Pop tune called "Living For Me".http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 64814&q=hi

Re: Is this song PUSH worthy???
Hi Mark,I'm sorry but I'm not really totally not an aficionado of this genre so I can't give you anything emphatic, but it's very well produced and I can completely hear it in a movie. There's a little bit of the melody that reminds me of "The Mighty Quinn" - totally not in a ripoff way, just reminds me, that's all Well done, and good luck.tt

Mark, Your song is very well crafted and you've got a great, strong vocal. I like the bridge. All in all I'd say production wise it's got a fine sound. As for "push", I must not be a good judge . Check out southpaw's post in peer to peer where he asks if his song is "push worthy". I heard his song and thought it was perfect, Yet many folks thought it wasn't quite ready. Goes to show how it has a lot to do with individual taste. I'd say your song is ready. Let's see what others say. Dave Berdoulay

Mark,I think I told you this before via email once, but this is my favorite song that I've heard from you. It has a great chorus, imo, great lift, great emotion, and I love the verses and bridge too. Is it push worthy, well, I could just say NO to everyone who asks that and I'd be right about 100 percent of the time, but .... I think it might be. I'd submit it.Dean

Thanks guys............my only concerns would be:a) it's not necessarily "current" as far as what I might here on network television, although I think the song is somewhat refreshing.b) wasting my money when I haven't received a forward in many months for some reason.

Hey Mark!I like this! The song is strong with a great hook and lift as said above. I hear it falling more into a roots-pop/rock genre so I wouldn't worry about being current. That music never goes outta style Not sure if you wanted feedback on the production but IMO that will need some work to compete with the best of the best out there. A good solid to me though.Good luck!

Re: Is this song PUSH worthy???
MarkThis is really good and probably could get a forward for the right listing. We all have to keep in mind just how high the bar is for PUSH. For many of us, just getting a pop/rock song forwarded at all is a challenge so multiply that selectiveness x 1000. This probably would not get a PUSH forward because it doesn't sound very modern (it's retro) and the lyrics aren't cutting edge at all. This doesn't mean the lyrics are bad at all. But lines like "the road keeps rolling" and "set me free", "come along and ride with me", etc. won't excite a label exec today. So, I'd pitch this for the right listing where it fits an "a la" and/or era, but not for PUSH.Also, PUSH requires submitting 3 songs at once, so not just one great song is needed, THREE are required. Don't feel bad-- you put together a great track and I really like it! It's just not modern sounding, cutting edge... Keep an eye out for more fitting listings.Best, Casey

Re: Is this song PUSH worthy???
Hey guys.............would this song fit the listing below???????? I am just clueless about categorizing my own songs........Crossover COUNTRY/ROCK SONGS a la The Eagles, Linda Ronstadt, etc. are being sought after by a Producer at an L.A. based production company for a new duo that is being pitched to major labels and high profile independents. While this act communicates a California country sound, it is comprised of a guy and a girl, giving it a marketing angle a la Sugarland. He is looking for a couple of more songs to finish the project. A wide range of topics are acceptable, including lyrics that "hint" at an inspirational theme, but aren't overtly Christian in content. The Producer (who has worked with such acts ranging from Trisha Yearwood to the Nitty Gritt Dirt Band) will be screening the material so this is an excellent ground floor opportunity to be heard. We will keep the bar high on this one in order to deliver the quality that will be expected at the highest industry level. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Thursday, March 12, 2009. TAXI #S090312CO

Just bear in mind that the bar is stated as very high-- I rarely see "CO" listings that aren't fairly high-bar. (I know, here comes that darn 'bar' thing again! ) When the bar is very high, even excellent songs get returned.Definitely, submit it... At the very minimum, you'll get feedback...Good luck! Casey
