The Days Collection Review

Post by themakerofallmusic » Sat Feb 21, 2009 1:26 pm

Hi All,This is kinda my first time posting music for others to review on here, but I don't expect for you to take my music lightly. I just want to know various thoughts about my music outta curiosity and I will return the favor and be as honest as I can about it. GO to www.myspace.com/themakerofallmusic and tell me what you think about these songs that I submitted from a couple of my albums off the DAYS COLLECTION -WEEKEND EDITION:1.) That Place - Friday Music - Days Collection - Vol. 32.) Starry Sky - Saturday Music - Days Collection - Vol. 1 There are others too, but I don't want to take too much of your time . The first one is what I call a JHOP sound ( Jazz/Hip Hop). The second is traditional Jazz. I do all this on my keyboard and my digital studio. I am so curious to hear what you guys think! Let me know about yours, I'm ready to critique too! Thanks guys, I like this feature of the forum...honest opinions only!

Hi. I listened to "Starry Sky," since I come from a jazz background. The sound was pretty good. For traditional jazz, I'd expect to hear more variation in harmony and rhythm, while you have a steady progression and mostly quarter-note rhythm on the bass throughout (which has an somewhat unnatural tone). You have some good ideas going on the vibes, then piano. The drums don't sound very present and are quite trebly. I'd work to bring them forward in the mix with more bottom end.Overall, this sounds more like a "jam" than a song to me. What are your intentions for it?Vince
