"Roll with the Punches"..pop/rock..thoughts?
Thoughts on the song? production?...anything?The vocal is a one-take that was never intended to be heard but I want to get your opinions before we cut the final...the aggressiveness of the delivery needs intensified for sure...what do you think??"Roll with the Punches"http://taxi.com/alanpowell-Alan

Alan, I'd love to see the lyrics if you get a chance...I really like your title. Nice rythm you've got going. It reminds me of Maroon 5 (who I'm a fan of). The melody seems very commerical sounding. The vocal seem pretty good...I don't hear any blaring problems, I might consider layering the vocal for some more depth (especially if you're hitting the studio again, you might as well give another try, it might work out laid on top of what you've got). Nice tune man!Andy

Sounds great so far. Vocal sounds just a hair thin in the verses, but fills out nicely in the chorus. Also, in the verse, the mix is a little unbalanced with the vocal in the center and pretty loud guitar panned hard right. I'd probably put the guitar solo in the center also. These are all just mixing choices, though, and don't really take away from a very commercial/modern-sounding production. Pretty catchy, too.I started noticing in the outro that the snare is a bit trebly. It probably worked fine during the song, then stood out near the end when the hits were more exposed/repeated.Vince
