Sounds like live drums, there, Mark. I take it you're focussing on writing rather than production for FAWM, so I'm jes' gonna mention that I'm not entirely clear on whether Alice has one or two glass eyes. See, if she's missing both eyes, it'd be real unusual for her to get fitted with glass ones; most folks in that situation opt for a simple (and way cheaper) pair of dark glasses. Stands to reason, I guess, that if you're completely blind, you're maybe not as concerned about appearances, but if you have one good eye, you might look in the mirror and decide the eye patch is too sinister a look, or maybe just too pirate-ey, hence, a glass eye. And why not get one to match? Unless maybe she (or her boyfriend) found it at a pawn shop or something. And soaking them in a sink? Recipe for disaster, that. They could go down the drain, that's why most folks soak 'em in a glass on the nightstand, like dentures. All of which could make great grist for a song that's essentially a character study, yet tells us next to nothing about this girl, except her name is Alice and she has one or more glass eyes. I hope I'm not over-analyzing what's clearly meant to be a fun rock song, I just feel you could do a lot more with it.

You don't seem to realize this is all true.Heehee. I just love a weird lyric, Mojo, and this one was written by the delightfully bizarre Calvin Stewart. I agree with all you said, only it takes the crazy away.Yes, I composed and recorded this this morning in the usual manner, my big Harry Nilsson bathrobe on and a thermos of coffee on the desk, at least one take always ruined when the dog barks at the mail carrier and then I bark swear words into the mic. Never fails. Lots of nasty harshness and tunnel-like qualities to deal with here, but I hope to remix it a little better tonight. Thanks Reverend!

Thanks Paul and Patrick! This is Mix #2 you both listened to...the one Mojobones heard kinda sucked. Glad you liked this--the lyric was too weird for me to resist.Cheers!-Mark
