Instrumental--fit anywhere??

Post by heinsite » Mon Jan 19, 2009 10:30 pm

i'm having one of my latest already posted resung--but i also had it produced as an instrumental, the "verse" is a bit boring, but does this car commercial or video game thingee have any legs?--uh, i mean TIRES? Let's Drive againps: they are upping some of the instrumentation as i post this, but this is the close and general idea...thanks for any comments...http://www.taximusic.com/download/20262 ... 0Drive.mp3

Warren,It's definitely cleanly played and recorded and could certainly work as a bed for a commercial. The lack of melody would work for you there, as they typically don't want anything for the times when the voice-over is happening. For video games, I think they'd rather have a melody in there (but I have no experience with that genre).Vince

I'm awake - just!Yeah Warren, nice driving beat.I'd say it's got a fine set of radials on there!Maybe Continental, not Dunlop, and certainly not remoulds!!

Warren! There may be a home for this -- it's well played and well produced! This isn't what I would call a true instrumental since there isn't a melody line, but rather a music bed. When the offer comes in for this bad boy, just be sure you can get 'em a :30 and a :60 of this energetic number.Cheers!

thanks vince, dave and zoonster --YES to all you've said, just spent a very few bucks this time to try to expand the forward potentials...we'll see, thanks for the comments--as i said, i'm awaiting their final on this, bringing up some of the instruments, so whatever's there in lack of melody "fills" a bit more. and yes pat, i definitely need to be ready for "pieces" of this...if i get lucky...all the best, warren

I like it Warren! It has a nice, distinctive chord progression, it's a very good production, and I could see this working in a commercial or TV action sequence. I think Vince is right that the lack of melody in places might be a plus for you.

hi cam, how are you man?? hope all is well my friend...yeah, thought i'd try a bit of non-melody, as my melody-rich tunes aint goin' too far!! LOL...but it's kinda an anamoly, branch out thing, not much i know honestly, but hell, we try.great hearing from you. i've got 3 in the demo hopper right now, one i'm gunna sing myself--i think marty has melodyne--he better! the other is a "nice" "simple" "female oriented" slightly sexy if she sings it right older tune that i've reworked. pop-ish/singer songwriter thing...but we'll see--uh hear in a couple weeks...all the best, warren

Hey Warren! I like this baby and I agree with the others that it will find its niche. Funny, the instrumental version has a kind of 80's feel that I didnt hear on the sung version.

thanks brinda!well, i've had this remixed, and some of it is just a bit clearer, but won't post it, not THAT much different...LOL...also on the"other" one--the vocal, i just approved a resing of it, and man, it sounds more "today", maybe not enough, but more so...but won't post that one either--y'all have to trust it's better, i don't like posting resings for subtlety sakes...thank you for the comments--just see (duh) you're from miami? my daugher is in Ft. Myers and my wife just got back from visiting her on a short vacation thing with our other daugher--they drove all the way to the end of the keys and spent a night in some folksy/ritzy little old place, had allot of fun at buffet's margaritaville...all the best, warren

Years ago we rented a condo on Ft Myers. Lovely weather and beaches ( not like today, we are in the 40's in Miami, believe it or not ) anyway, as we are sitting on the terrace one evening, ground floor and facing the canal, we saw this huge gator entering the water. We bought wee wee pads for the dogs, as I refused to walk them out at night!
