"A Day Out" - New Acoustic Piece
Hi All.Here's one I just finished with the new Ovation.I'm sick of hearing it myself! Still can't get my head around compression and limitingto bring the volume up. Maybe it's OK as it is.Please see what you think....http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=truenote: this is the latest version.
I put the kettle on, it didn't suit me.

Nice job, Dave. The Ovation sounds great. The sound is just fine as is to my ears. And the title really matched the feel...like someone's just out for a stroll or a leisurely drive. Just great. The one thing that kind of rubbed me the wrong way was the way the chords were cut off near the 4th beat of each measure instead of letting them ring. Just a preference thing.Jonathan

Feaker stands to give Davey a..."STANDING OVATION"Like the sound of your new toy bud. Might have to git me one. How's the action?I agree with Johnathon about the sustain. Would add much. The tune sounds......... "groovy" to me. Light. Fluffy. etcWay to goPaul

Instinctively when I hear an acoustic track, especially one with only guitar, I want to hear more lows to boom the sound up and full. But because of the melody you play it seems perfect as is, light, bright, and natural. Definitely enjoyed listening to it. Thought about adding an acoustic to my arsenal, but can't seem to find one that sounds right through my boss mt-2 metal pedal. (hahaha, kidding) But then again there's the Taylor T5, hmmmmm....Good job!

Ya Dave, I'll give it a deep listen this weekend.I'd agree on the lack of sustain ...it's coming off a bit staccato when you let up on the left hand (or mute) so soon. I'll think on it some...nice new toy, huh?!?

You might be able to "mask" it by adding a pad track of just strums on beats 2 and 4, which would also go with the walking feel. Such would also mask the rather short last note.Love the sound!
