Re: ALL OPINIONS WANTED (INSTRUMENTAL)
Hey there...I think your mix is alright...Your song is closer to the Apocalyptic than the Dramatic IMO....but..."adrenaline-pumping"...your tempo may be a little slow...and there is one sound, the keys, that may not be industrial sounding enough.....I'd submit it.....It's very close ....as for dramatic....I think they like a lot of builds and breaks mixed with suspenseful sounding stuff....less pulse in spots, too....hope this helps, good luck with your music, vtbp

Thanks vicky! I thought the same about the keys, but I really loved the contrast. I might just do a remix for this one particular listing and then keep as is. Thanks again!

Re: ALL OPINIONS WANTED (INSTRUMENTAL)
johnny,I don't hear much industrial or "adrenaline pumping", but there's drama for sure. I like the way you weaved the piano throughout and the overall sound is really good.Vince

Re: ALL OPINIONS WANTED (INSTRUMENTAL)
Thanks vince. Yeah, I think I was more focused on the apocolyptic point and didn't pay much mind to the adrenalin pumping. I could bring up the tempo, but I think better how it is, and save it for the right listing. Although a faster remix is tempting......

Re: ALL OPINIONS WANTED (INSTRUMENTAL)
Hey JB-333I've been listening, I like the track - but in my honest opinion it sounds more along the lines of Goth Rock to me more than Industrial or even dramatic... it's more Melancholic if anything. The suggestions I could make areThe synth bass in the intro, needs to be waaay more oscillated... give it some raw qualities. The drums are too clean if that makes sense, they need to sound Mechanical in a sense, for e.g. a hammer hitting an anvil or sumin.Examples I could name for industrial are KMFDM, NIN, Marilyn Manson...You have a great track here, I just don't think it's right for either listing - then again, who am I to say... Hope you're well.Take CareB

Thanks bradn. Very specific and informative info you gave me. I think you are right for sure on the not being industrial enough. If I choose to pursue the listing, I think I will first go through different drum samples till I find one more fitting. Thanks a million!!

Re: ALL OPINIONS WANTED (INSTRUMENTAL)
Quote:NEW LISTING -- APOCALYPTIC/INDUSTRIAL INSTRUMENTALS that are filled with adrenaline-pumping instrumentation and rhythmic motives are sought after by a Major Music Publisher with distribution through a huge Production Music Library. This Publisher is also an Emmy-winning Composer for daytime television and this is a fantastic opportunity to be introduced to a Publishing/Licensing relationship as well as the possibilities of future composition projects with a VERY successful industry pro. Excellent original compositions, performances and recordings are a must! The tone on these should be really exciting, thrilling, suspenseful and intense. This Publisher will be looking to sign 8-12 tracks for an upfront "buyout" fee that will be in the $2K range. While it will be an exclusive purchase of the material, this Publisher will not take any portion of your writer's share. He won't be looking for custom compositions, but rather a collection of "B" material — tracks that are laying dormant in your catalog. While we can be a bit more liberal for this one, you'll want to be sure that the compositions themselves are very well written and the recordings are Broadcast Quality. This material will be pitched primarily to Film/TV projects. Please submit 2-3 instrumentals online or per CD, but be prepared to send more if the Publisher gets in touch with you. He will ultimately be interested in signing 8-12 tracks for the buyout fee mentioned above. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than March 4, 2009.TAXI # S090304TDRAMATIC INSTRUMENTALS are needed by a successful Production Music Library/Publisher that has signed and placed tons of TAXI writers/songs over the years. This company will be looking for material that would be great for Feature Films and TV/Radio/Commercials. There are no arrangement or instrumentation restrictions, but the overall tone must be compelling/dynamic and engaging. High drama, emotional pull and climactic build will all be key factors. The performances/production must be excellent and the recordings need to be Broadcast Quality (great home recordings should be fine). Pieces should not exceed 4 min. in length and they need to have clear endings — no fades. Please submit one to three pieces online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS — NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI — and must be received no later than January 28, 2009.TAXI # Y090128INhey Johnny,Just checked out your track. Let me say that I'm definitely no expert in the industrial genre, and I'm just starting to get into more of the orchestral stuff. That said, I think the track itself has great potential but I don't think it's quite on target for either of these listings, in it's current form. I'd have to agree with B and say that it has more of a goth rock feel to it and with Vince that it's very adrenaline pumping. While both of those listings seem to be looking for similar stuff, if I were going to try and write just one piece of music for both of them, then I think I would focus on writing for the 2nd listing first. Here's why... Quote:High drama, emotional pull and climactic build will all be key factors.Even though both of the listings seem to give some specific ideas on the overall tone, the 2nd listing seems, to me, to be even more specific. I don't know if you watch Battlestar Galactica or not, so I found a clip for you. I absolutely LOVE this theme song, just gorgeous. But for your listing, check out the clip starting around the 1:11 mark and I think it might give you a short example of what the 2nd listing is looking for, or at least what I think they're asking for. Again, just one person's opinion.

Thanks Big Blue. I definitely am considering holding out for another listing at this point, but if I do submit, it will under go some major changes. Thanks for the input!!!!
