Piano Instrumental Listing - Simple, Uplifting

Post by ideascapes » Sat Jan 17, 2009 2:55 am

Is it frigid in everybody else's part of the world? It's 9° F here--yikes! My fingers are barely working...Anyway, I plan to submit these songs (they call for 2-3) to the listing below and was hoping to get feedback on the sound and mix. There's no genre specified, so the suitability seems pretty open, although it does note "simple and uplifting." Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen.Vince-----------------------------------------------Song Titles: Rachel and Half Lifehttp://www.taxi.com/ideascapes---------------- ... -------NEW LISTING ACOUSTIC GUITAR OR PIANO INSTRUMENTALS for Retail projects and Film/TV placements are sought after by a Major Music Publisher with distribution through a huge Production Music Library. This Publisher is also an Emmy-winning Composer for daytime television and this is a fantastic opportunity to be introduced to a Publishing/Licensingrelationship as well as the possibilities of future composition projectswith a VERY successful industry pro. Excellent arrangements, performancesand recordings are a must! These pieces should feature one instrumentprimarily, though a slight dose of additional instrumentation will beconsidered as long as the overall tone is simple and uplifting. This is"music to shop by" nothing dark, heavy or serious. This Publisher willbe looking to sign 8-12 tracks for an upfront "buyout" fee that will be inthe $2K range. While it will be an exclusive purchase of the material, this Publisher will not take any portion of your writer's share. He won'tbe looking for custom compositions, but rather a collection of "B"material tracks that are laying dormant in your catalog. While we can bea bit more liberal for this one, you'll want to be sure that thecompositions themselves are very well written and the recordings areBroadcast Quality. Please submit 2-3 instrumentals online or per CD, butbe prepared to send more if the Publisher gets in touch with you. He willultimately be interested in signing 8-12 tracks for the buyout feementioned above. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS NOCRITIQUES FROM TAXI and must be received no later than February 27,2009. TAXI # Y090227IN

Hi Vince....Rachel .... mix sounded "quiet" I guess, not as dynamic... the piano sounds better in 1/2 life... maybe a little more space in the intro... before the drums come in.... liked the tune over all...Half life.... love this (I'm a sucker for your violins.... live or memorex?).... sounds great... love this... oops said that already... nothing else to add...Except... love this.. (3rd listen)...Peace, Geo

Thanks Pete and Geo. As I've said before, the negative comments are just as welcome as the positive ones. Violins and cellos are carefully played/articulated samples.Vince

Wow Vince,Lyle Mays would be proud of Rachel I'll bet!! Love the chord at :17. Half Life is VERY pretty also. The only problem I can find is I that I have to keep hitting the play button because I want to hear them over and over again!! If this is from your "B" collection I want to hear the "A" collection!Good luck with 'em! Kitz

As for temperature - It was -13 at my house nite before last. We had a warm front today and got up to 28 with 10 inches of snow.

Both tracks seem to be perfect for the listing. I'm no screener of course, but to me both sound like they could easily be in a US drama or commercial. Rachel especially... I can hear that in a movie for sure.Production is really good and those cello/violin samples are also very well done.

Thanks Kitz and b.a.h. I'm a huge Lyle Mays fan, so I'm not surprised when people note that influence. I sat down and recorded a song the moment I returned from a Pat Metheny Group concert a few years ago. It's in a production music library, so I guess I'd consider that "A" material. In any case, it's at the link below, if you'd like to listen.V>------------------http://www.broadjam.com/transmit/index. ... yhgbndsq=1
