Re: New pop song
Rob,You didn't say the intended use for your song, so my comments will be general. The production is simple, but effective. The vocalist has good tone and serves the song well. Is she a native English speaker? Some of the words in the chorus lyric sounded "foreign." Not really an issue, just curious. If you are aiming for the dance charts, the tempo is a little slow.Nice job keeping the instruments clear of the vocal.Vince

Hi Vince, thanks for listening. Appreciate your comments about the vocal and production. I know what you mean about the tempo - we're currently remixing to make a more up-beat, dancey version.Well spotted about the vocal - she is actually Korean! Thanks again,Rob

Hey Rob..I'm not a dance guy but I can tell the great melody, vocal, mix, and production work here! I love her voice too! I love the song but would like to hear it 5 BPM's faster maybe IMHO. (I'm listened to several of remixes you have.. . may fav is the original track 14 and Tim's remix ) Cheers and congrats on being featured in Computer Music Mag!

Patrick,Thanks for such a considered and positive response - especially because it isn't really your type of music.Just listened to your music - very impressive work. You must be very pleased with 'See thru me' - a really strong song, got real potential.Cheers,Rob

Re: New pop song
I agree with the previous comments but I have a problem understanding the lyrics. They are a bit muddy to these ears and would love to be able to hear them without straining. Oh - wait a minute - I was listening to the first take - let me re-assess. Ok - last mix - better but the keyboards seem to have much more prevelance than the vocal and the vocal sounds so good I want to hear them without straining. No reason to bury that vocal. Listen carefully - the ancillary (keyboard) parts are much louder than the vocal. Tip - mix the vocal, bass and drums alone. Then come back and add the other parts. Just a thought. Bass needs a boost as well. Maybe if you kept the mix as is and sunk the keys back a good deal you would be within tolerance. Just my personal specs. Really nice tune. Good Luck With It!!Kitz

Good stuff! Her voice is just great for this tune, but when you re-record to pick up the tempo, make sure to watch the pronunciation of the word "do" in the chorus line that says:Something you are, something you doGood job!

Sure no problem Rob! Thanks for taking the time to listen to my tune also. Yeah I feel like that song has potential and will be doing some tweaks soon.
