Oh No. I feel really good about this submission

I never get forwarded when I think I will. Here is the listing:S081211TVSOUTHERN ROCK/HARD ROCK/COUNTRY ROCK/CLASSIC ROCK SONGS with vocals and a contemporary touch are needed by the Music Supervisor for an Indie film set in Vegas, revolving around a male protagonist in his mid-30s who is smart & lively and on a serious mission to get his life back together. This character is strong, driven, blue-collar and a true cowboy at heart. You might think in the range of .38 Special's "Wild-Eyed Southern Boys", "Dirty White Boy" by Foreigner, Billy Squire, Chris Whitley ("Living With The Law" album - specifically the song "Kick The Stones"), Ben Harper, etc. You can also reference Lynyrd Skynyrd, ZZ Top, The Black Crowes, Van Zant, etc. Great Southern Rock will be perfect, but be careful not to submit anything that has a straight-up Blues approach. While many of the references are from a past era, this Music Sup is really hoping to find some hip, cool and current and/or timeless songs in the noted genres - not too dated in the performance or recording style and NOT Vegas "cheese" either. These songs need to provide a great backdrop for the pulsing mood and energy of downtown Vegas. Lyrically, you'll want to focus on strong perspectives like working hard/living life to its fullest/getting back up when you've been knocked down/overcoming the odds/etc. You can also take in to account his character description - "cowboy at heart", strong/driven, blue-collar, etc. Recordings MUST be Broadcast Quality for this one. Please only submit original material - NO COVERS - and male vocals only. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than December 11, 2008. TAXI #S081211TVHere is the song I submitted:http://www.taximusic.com/stream/128281/ ... 0Home.mp3I have been excited about this one. I think it is dead on. That usually translates to me getting a Return. Do you think it fits the listing?

Hi McCantyGreat vibe, cool song, and I think the right one for this listing... It feels really right for "These songs need to provide a great backdrop for the pulsing mood and energy of downtown Vegas"... You got a good one here, no doubt! Rootin' for you! Best for '09! Seems pretty good to me!!Nice job for sure...the only line from the listing that caught my eye was this one:These songs need to provide a great backdrop for the pulsing mood and energy of downtown Vegas.I like the tempo of your song, I hope it has enough "pulse" for their project. The song itself is great!

I'd say you're right on for the listing, and the song is certainly strong enough. Trying to read the screener's mind is just about impossible, so about all you can do is go for it. Whether it will ultimately make the film will probably depend on how well the story line of your song tracks the story line of the movie, but I'd be surprised if you didn't get a forward off this one.Cam

Nope, no forward on this one. I knew it. The reviewer gave it high marks but also the most bizarre reasons for not forwarding. Oh well, kinda what I expected. Everything is so subjective...
