Re: New OLD rock
Excellent. It made me smile and feel good. Vibe is great, and tune seems very vintage and fitting imo for the listing. Agree with wta, Lvox forward just a smidgeon.. But not much else to say other than, great job! Jamie

Re: New OLD rock
What's amazing, bill, is how this sounds like a band--multiple people making inputs on stops and starts, chanting together. Lots on energy in the vocal and drums, especially.Guitar break was a little sloppy, but maybe that goes with the garage setting? I'd like to hear some air tools thrown in there for good measure!Great job.Vince

Re: New OLD rock
Thanks WTA & Jamie, I'll boost the vox just a "titch" (what the hell is that, .5db?) in the verses. Vince, I think this sounds like a band probably BECAUSE of the sloppiness. I tracked it really fast & "loose" to avoid it getting too polished. I wanted to use my hollowbody Gretsch but it had a broken high E string, it has a Bigsby so it's a pain in the a$$ to change strings. I decided I didn't need a high E for this song, which would have come in handy for the solo (oh, I'm lazy too).

Nicely done my friend! Yeah I agree probably strongest of the 60's stuff I've heard lately from you. I think the vox are fine as is for me level wise. I like the attitude you put into the "yeah" when the music drops out. you've got a great voice for this stuff. guitar tone is great!the thing with you bill is that whereas I have to program half my instruments you can actually PLAY them all ha ha!

Re: New OLD rock
Thanks Patrick! The guitar is my Gretsch hollowbody through a little Roland micro-cube mic'ed with a sm58 through my old Joe Meek pre-amp/compressor. I love the sounds I can get out of that simple set up. It's only 5 watts but will feedback like crazy when it's cranked up.Patrick, I would have thought most of your stuff was really 'played" . . . you could have fooled me-

Re: New OLD rock
well I've seen those little cubes.. those things get some tone! I like the idea of tracking a smaller amb like that. ha ha well I guess if I'm fooled you on the instruments than I'm doing ok.

Patrick Baker:Just checking out your stuff on myspace. You are excellent. I'd love to co-write sometime. Only about four hours away. Very impressive that you can fill that much space with just guitar and vocal.Mark

Bill - Love the song. It's music that I don't have to think about, and that is a compliment. Mark
