hey Dean, I like the letter line because it's a chance to "dig back" and provide a bygone idea . . . we don't write letters anymore but did in the 60's. And the idea of a love letter is for some reason especially nostalgic to me. It's the only opportunity I have to make an "outdated" reference.Vince, you're probably right (not the "full of it part!") but the other three points. I have a really crazy hearing loss that I battle . . . my left ear has a lot of general loss but higher frequencies are ok. I have less loss in my right ear BUT almost nothing going on above 5k or so. I've got a very old trustworthy set of cans that I'm always flipping around (switching right with left) when I'm mixing, not an ideal situation . . . but whatchagonnado? I'm gonna trust your judgement & kill some of the verb AND edit out some of the parts. I figure it can't really screw anything up . . . less usually turns out to be best most of the time anyway - Thanks!

hey bill.. listened to this but hadn't got a chance to comment.man, on 2nd listen I like it even more! I like your voice and delivery on this. even though I hear the retro vibe it reminds me other newer bands that I can't put my finger on yet. I know you did that Westerburg thing for Dispatch and maybe that's partly what I'm hearing. could this kind of track maybe fall into the roots pop/rock of today? like almost alt-country but more on the son volt/whiskey town side with less twang? also reminds me of that song.. I think it was Pete Droge maybe.. "I love you period" I think it was.. I'm just thinking out loud.

Bill,You've got the '60s sound down...that's for sure. This sounds like something right off a Yardbirds album. I'm not sure it would have been then hit single off the Yardbirds album as I don't think the melodic hook is quite strong enough for that, but it sure could have been an album cut. What amazes me is that you the whole thing in a night! I'd still be untangling my cables from the last session.Cam

Patrick, I love Pete Droge so that a big compliment! In my last "live" band we mixed some Pete Droge covers in with my originals & they fit nicely. I have a feeling that when the critique comes back on this it's gonna reflect that I missed the "garage band" mark.Cam Yardbirds is really what I had in mind, although listening back now I think it's just goona be deemed to modern sounding for this listing (that will be a new one for me!)Thanks Geo, but I promise I'd be completely satisfied with just one song on the album
