On Target for this listing?

Post by wodinlord » Fri Jan 02, 2009 4:35 pm

Listen here to - Mixed Marshall Arts, Unrequited remix, Heart of Stone remixhttp://www.myspace.com/kerrycraftonproducerFor this listing-D081230TVCURRENT ROCK INSTRUMENTALS IN A VARIETY OF STYLES ranging from Alternative Rock (Muse/Kasabian/The Killers/etc.) to Hard Rock (Hinder/Daughtry/3 Doors Down/etc.) to Nu Metal (P.O.D./Limp Bizkit/Papa Roach/Korn/etc.) are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). They want tracks that build and grow, with melodic and dynamic variation, for a variety of Film/TV placement opportunities - they need to quickly add to their catalog in this genre. You may consider editing down a full-length song in order to avoid long sections of repetition, since this company NEEDS to have tracks that are changing & building constantly. You can submit tracks that range between 1-4 minutes in length and be sure there are NO VOCALS - they’ll be focused on the sound of the guitars/drums for this one (be sure they sound authentic and current!). They want material that sounds like it could be on the radio, but will only be interested in Instrumental versions for this listing. Broadcast quality is necessary, though excellent home recordings should be fine. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than Noon PST on xx/xx/xx

Wodinlords,Sounds good to me!! Really nice guitar work! Mixes sound good - I'm not real familiar with the genre but I don't see why these tunes wouldn't fly. Couldn't find Heart of Stone on your myspace so I listened to Violent Heart. Kind of secret agentish to me.Solo on unrequited is really smoking!!I liked the sound fx in essence of evil (secret agenty too to my ears) Seems to me there would be lots of opportunity for this kind of material in the TV CSI / crime show genre.Just my dos pesos,Kitz

Hi WodWe talked about this before. It will come down to whether these are considered "current" sounding enough and a long the lines of the acts mentioned. Great guitar work! The first word in the description is "CURRENT"... Some of the acts may go back a few years but the key is not going back too far.If these tracks don't fit this listing, they definitely will have a home somewhere such as requests for high energy guitar instrumentals. Best of luck! Casey

Kerry,Great production values. BTW, you should be required to identify which guitars you are using by the ones hanging on the wall in your MySpace pic!I'm pretty terrible and judging "Current", but the TAXI screeners must be very good at it. I'm hearing some retro elements here, but just about everything in rock has a little throwback in it, so...The production is definitely clean and modern sounding and you have some pseudo "electronica" elements in there, so that's probably good enough for a forward. Let us know!(I see now in the listing that they're focused on guitars and drums, and yours sound terrific here.Vince

Good production, like the others have said I think this would come down to the "current" nature of the listing. Sometimes this can even differ from screener to screener so it's almost impossible to call.
