I'll have to listen closely but I think after the fills it goes right back to the hat which might make it sound strange if I put a crash in there, but it might work.It probably should have been recorded on an old Ludwig kit (man, if that's a deal breaker we ALL are in some deep do-do

There is no right or wrong but what I was trying to say is authenticity (e.g. 60's-like) is a HUGE factor for film/TV with a track like this. That's where I was coming from regarding the repeat verse-- if repeating with a lyric change (especially one that adds a different dimension) is not like what they did back then, it's a concern. Authenticity probably (JMHO) trumps. Also, more aspects actually can make it worse... more specifics, less usable. But if I knew everything I'd be making way more money at this! Best,Casey

Re: 60's Brit Pop: A Casey/BillG Project
The comments on this thread have been extremely helpful and I want to thank everyone again. Many extra thanks to a few very special friends here who sent me comments and suggestions off-line. If you can tolerate my singing , here is a scratch vocal with re-written lyrics. The lyrics got a pretty big overhaul. Of course, Bill has to make sure this sings & phrases right for him, but I think this is way better than before.... And again, pardon the singing-- this is just for my thoughts on lyrics and phrasing... What could I do? Many nights I dream that youCame back to me(pause) realityAlways wakes me teary eyedBut it doesn't matter anyway Can’t go back to yesterday We both moved on with our lives But I miss the beauty in y*ur eyes InstrumentalRepeat last verse with “Still many nights…”

I'm not sure what this means but I suspect it has something to do with me cooking supper in the kitchen right now.Casey, you took this song past my ability to comment. Congrats on the rewrite! The story line communicates in the language of Pop and I'll bet it sings better too even though I've yet to hear it sung. <hehehe> I'm happy for you, buddy! I'll stay tuned for the final version! -Allen

Re: 60's Brit Pop: A Casey/BillG Project
Hey Warren, Bob had mentioned that he thought the top end was a bit much for the authentic 60s vibe which I thought was a good point, so I ran the mix through my outboard tube compressor/limiter and it knocked some of the crispies off & warmed things up a lot I thought. I know it's a modern trend to get as much high end as you can get out of something But I certainly wasn't going for "non clarity" as you put it LOL.
