Warren-As a peace offering after out little lovers' spat, I'll share my two bits about your piece.I think it's real nice, and certainly "broadcast quality." So, the answer to your question, IMO, is yes...it's forward-able given the right listing.The problem will be finding such a listing. Without any lyrics to convey meaning behind the song, we're left with the emotion the music imparts on its own....and I get several different vibes from this piece. Sad, happy, peaceful, suspenseful, questioning, resolution, etc. And stylistically it's a bit Spanish, country, light pop/rock, Americana...you get my drift. Trying to put myself in a music supervisor's shoes, I have a hard time imagining a scene this piece would fit over (or behind).You've done a great job on recording and mixing it, though, and it's nice to listen to on its own. Give it a "forward" yourself to some friends and family!André

andreh nailed it for me. I know precious little about instrumentals except what I've learned from doing acoustic pieces but the bottom line IS emotion. Its got to be clear and instantly recognizable as that is they way it chosen by the music supervisor. They'll have a data base with sub categories and when they want HAPPY they go to a certain place to get it so if a piece isn't intantly clear relating to the emotion its going to have a hard time competing with tunes that are. No doubt in my mind that this piece is very high quality, though I did listen to it on my cans and not in several monitor systems hence I can't give my final of its its "broacast quality" but man its got great instrumentation and I love the melody. My nit only is I found certain percussion parts to be a bit in the way of other tracks, I didn't get time code but that was the only thing that I could say was a draw back but hell thats pretty relative from an opinion's perspective. wta

Well, I'll be around until Sunday Warren, then I'm home.No internet there, so I'm making the most of it 'til then.This is nice to listen to.It's got good vibes.As far as forwarding, you won't know until you try submitting,and it's certainly worth that.All I know is, I know a good acoustic instrumental when I hear one,and this is one I just heard!

This is a nice tune Warren . . . here's what I think . . . genre; Americana mood; reflective, sad, introspectiveIf you find a listing for Americana instrumentals featuring acoustic guitar with a "leaning towards meloncholy, nothing too upbeat vibe," well then I think you've got something.If you want to take it into a completely new direction I can supply some "bass farts" that would really make this piece stand out

(FYI... This is about the instrumental version, not the song)Damn.... Bill beat me to it! (not the bass farts part, but all the other stuff)I was going to say the exact same thing.... submit this to every single cowboy movie or tv show... or anything with a sad scene as a guy goes rolling through the countryside on a train. I can visualize exactly where this fits, and the quality is excellent. The melody is actually something you can hang an entire movie on IMO because it doesn't *try* to be more than what it is. Plus, there's enough variation in the background to make it a really strong track.Now the only thing is finding a good listing.... though with a piece like this, it might be better to pitch directly to the music supes, as I haven't seen a listing for something like this on Taxi.And, I'll concur with Bill... "bass farts" would make the piece stand out more

I've not heard this before Warren, but it's good.The girl's got a nice voice, but I don't think it gets thesong across very well. But you already surmised that!I could hear Stevie Nicks singing this.Started out reminding me of Bread.Not the doughy sort, but David Gates. I know what you mean about writing what you like, and not for listings. I've not got to that point either. May have a go soon though.Enjoyed the listen.Dave.
