High energy dance - Need your comments please!

Post by aldicicco » Thu Dec 18, 2008 8:55 pm

Hi everyone,Looks like the Italian delegation on P2P is thinking dance music this holiday week (with kudos to Vince/Ideascapes on another high quality performance- check it out)!I've got a number of Electronica pieces in the queue and would really appreciate some feedback here on this one. I'm thinking about submitting it for:HIGH ENERGY DANCE/HOUSE/BIG BEAT SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS a la Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, The Crystal Method, Propellerhead, The Prodigy, etc. are wanted by a very successful Music Publisher and Artist Management company that specializes in Film/TV licensing. This company has placements with Sony, Warner Bros., Disney, Lions Gate, ESPN, FOX, ABC, MTV, Paramount, MGM, Artisan, New Line Cinema, Miramax and more. If you submitted to D081023TV, be sure to submit different material for this listing. They'll be looking for both Songs with vocals and Instrumentals, but the performances/production need to be absolutely cutting edge and engaging. If not this genre, what should I be looking for?The song is called "Momma gotta beat".www.taxi.com/aldiciccoBest wishes and thanks!Al

Al,Sounds like a good start with some cool ideas in there. I immediately heard the need to add some space to the mix--a little delay and/or verb on some of the tracks. I thought the song worked better starting about 1:10 when it started sounding more "full." I'd also experiment with some different drum sounds and patterns to go with the different sections, while keeping the beat driving. One thing to experiment with--up the tempo. I'd start adding about 5 BPM each time and listen through. You might find the whole thing works better at a much higher clip. If you do that, you might have to thin out some of the instrumentation and/or change the drum pattern.Ciao!Vincenzo
