Heinsite's Banjo Fix-O-The-Day

Post by devin » Tue Dec 09, 2008 5:51 pm

I noticed Warren liked Banjo, so here's a sketch Bluegrass track recorded since I was handed a broken mandolin on Sunday. Them things are hard to play!!! (*Devin nurses sore fingers on cold brown bottle*).There's a "Bluegrass Instrumental Covers" listing (of all dang things!) closing at the end of December. Once I finalize the arrangement, I'll start re-recording these tracks with an eye to submit....can anyone here play fiddle?!?Cheers Heinsite! (it may take a few seconds to open the link...it took me 40.6 years to record a bluegrass song, so I'm obviously in no hurry ).http://www.thepondstudio.ca/BanjoOn.mp3

Hey Devin,Pretty cool. There is some good stuff going on in there. I enjoyed it. The one part (0-00:40) ... repeats again in the middle I believe .. seems long .. maybe give it some more variation .. make it go somewhere .. to keep our interest there.Dean

Dean: I followed the original layout of the song pretty closely...there's lots of words and solo's in the second verse part, and the bed track seems to drag on for sure without the goodies over top. A fiddle would fit so well there...."here fiddle fiddle fiddle!" Anyone?!?Paul: This is my favourite bass line to play...I don't know how well it will translate to stand-up bass though, and the electric might be a bluegrass show stopper....hmmm...Matt: I would love to hear a vox on this!! Warm it up bro, I'll send on the final arrangement this week (got one more solo section to figure out)...but I guess the bed is all there for the vocal already.

Devin, if you don't find a fiddle player. . . you might get lucky here . . .but you'll probably have to do some pretty creative editing surgery -this might help!!!!http://efiddler.com/
