Hey Lou,Dec 11, 2008, 1:12pm, louis2012 wrote:Guys, I'd really like your feedback on this new orchestral track of mine. It just got returned for this listing:ORCHESTRAL/DRAMATIC INSTRUMENTALS for Film Trailers and various Film/TV placements are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). They need to hear real instruments or EXTREMELY convincing MIDI tracks. In the words of the Music Director, "We shun bad MIDI like a plague...". Be sure that you send in arrangements and performances that sound authentic and fantastic! They want every track to have a succinct and natural ending - no abrupt cut-offs or fades. There are no specific edits required for this one, but be sure each piece is 1-3 minutes in length - you'll also want to be sure you have the ability to quickly turn around edited segments upon request, should the company contact you. They like to hear a lot of movement in the pieces, with dramatic/suspenseful variation and build. Broadcast quality is necessary, though excellent home recordings should be fine. http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=trueor this link, not sure which works! www.taximusic.com/stream/185613/Hunted.mp3Hmmm... neither one works. I can get to your Taxi site with this link...www.taxi.com/louis2012I don't see a song called "Hunted" though. Not sure which one to listen to. Quote:So how does this NOT fit the listing? I'm wondering if the problem came from the fact that I uploaded a more guitar driven orchestral piece to meet the deadline then replaced it a week and a half later with this piece. A week and half??? Uh yes... that COULD have something to do with it. Quote:I always assumed that a listing result came through the moment it was screened. Am I wrong? All songs are screened, then the results are released in one big broacast email but not until all songs are screenedQuote:Is it possible the old version was reviewed then I was given the result a few weeks later? More than possible... probable. Quote:Any suggestions are most welcome.Don't do that again, Lou.

Yeah, what Dave said, lol. The screener most certainly listened to the old/initial version of your song.-Jeff

Yep, we just discussed this on another thread -- once that deadline has passed, there is no way of knowing when your track will be screened. Anytime between the deadline and the release of results. So if you upload something new after the deadline... you are playing Russian Roulette.can't access your piece, but I think you've found the problem. But there's another listing deadline today, suggest you resubmit.

Ah I see, I certainly won't be doing that again, somone on here recommended the idea to me, not that I'm blaming them, like you say its roulette and I was in a real procrastinating/anti producing mood when I left it a week and a half. Orchestral music needs the right frame of mind to do it well and the freezing temps in my studio made it unbearable to work (excuses excuses haha)Yep, I resubmitted it to the other orchestral listing a couple of days ago. Damn this exchange rate is really pushing up my listing fees!I think my link works fine now (forgot to make it public!!!)
