1 minute film cue - funky rock

Post by ideascapes » Sun Dec 07, 2008 4:33 pm

This short cut is intended to be used as a scene transition with the focus on a male character walking down the street after a fight with his girl. As always, the vocal is a guide track only. Working title is, "My Patience Here is Limited."Requesting comments on the mix, please. Thanks!Vince--------------------------------http://www.broadjam.com/transmit/index. ... yhgbndsq=1

Hi Vince,In my estimation, the mix sounds great. Listening on my tiny speakers, all the parts are crystal clear and appear well balanced. I have no trouble making out all of the parts.Cool song (heard a little Rare Earth - "I just want to celebrate" in it).How about a Cymbal "slap" at the end, rather than a sustained crash? Might be appropriate for a harder edged tune like this. Thanks for sharing.Al

Nice quality, the music reminds me a bit of Maroon 5's Harder To Breathe. The only problem I have with it is that I think you're over-enunciating for the genre. Funk Rock singers tend to favour the verbal sounds over the meaning, as though the lyrical rhythm is part of the music.I mean you won't hear Anthony Kiedis droppin' the patter for the chatter on this kinda scatter.

Quote:but does the patter chatter really matter? ;-)Now that you mention it wrds, it don't. Cos I missed the bit that says "guide vocal only" and now I feel soooooo redundant and like I really wanna go with the post-deletion trend which is de rigeur among my fellow twerps today.But...nah. In Peer to Peer we're like one big increasingly candid family where you don't really mind someone seeing the holes in yer knickers.

I dig the groove and production, mix.
