this is definitely some groove oriented stuff here vince ... and I'd love to hear it through to it's climax BUT .... tho it does have funk elements, it's also falling a little short of funk .... and leans towards a bit more pop rock in a more conventional sense ... and tho again, it touches the line, the bass is partly what makes funk funky and this walking man needs to get a little more down and dirty to fit that bill. I guess it depends on what bands the listing says you should be matching .... but clinton it ain't and to be honest, it didn't really itch my scratch funky off .... but I do like the vibe and the production and performance is pretty cool - tho don't discount zing's appraisal of the vocal line - besides what she already knows, she's had to endure a bit of the funk at home.
Gave up guilt when I left the ol' school girl uniform behind. You know, cute little skirts and knee socks, nuns and rulers and all that.

I'll buy that it's pop rock.I'll take zing's and anybody else's advice on vocals, knowing that I'm pretty much a lost cause, although a boon to session singers...Thanks all!Vince

Hey Vince.Yet another classic rock influenced piece from you. I like it. I'm really growing to enjoy your overall sound.Immediately on this one I got a Glenn Hughes feel coming out of it. Especially during the verses. Not too sure why some others are comparing it to more modern music, I'm just not hearing that. But, I'm a classic rock buff and I suppose my ears are more in tune with that. This has Glenn Hughes written all over it and that certainly is not a bad thing. You have a pretty natural knack for this style Vince. Good work.Mix is fine, could be a little brighter, but mostly very good. Thanks for sharing man. I dig it.

Thanks for the notes, stephen. I checked out Glenn Hughes on Napster--cool stuff! I probably have a lot of retro/classic in my bones, so no surprise that it rings that bell for you.V>
