hey mark--great to hear the tamborine! --just a crazy suggestion--i'm wondering if you should think about varying it a bit, instead of all the way through, maybe drop it (and i know this many be a contra-indicator...LOL) in the CHORUS, and bring it back for the "no no" part and verses, etc. just vary it a bit--it would be different for sure, and what i hear of the chorus, with the harmony and if the other instruments come through, just might work...yeah, it might not be EXACTLY as the original, but heck, still might lend a bit more interest...--also, i really get how hard it can be to record a tamborine, only have done it on my boss a few times, and took forever to get it "acceptable", let alone even good, but is there a way to make it just a bit less tinny--more full of a sound, "deeper" if possible? again, i know you may be going for the "authentic" here, but just an idea--heck, it's still a cover...that's all i got, dig it much better, great work as always..the best, warren

Mark!Ok.... so this sounds pretty damn good! It's a fairly true replica of the original, and I like how you got the effects workin' for ya. A couple of suggestions for you though. You need some tambourine instead of the shaker sound... you can borrow mine if you need it! The shaker ALMOST works... but the tambourine has that ring that's unmistakeable. Next up, I think you really should do a couple of things if you're feeling up for it.1) Up the tempo by about 5-10bpm. It will keep you on your toes and help combat any inkling of laziness in the vocal (which I heard a couple of times in the middle of the tune. The way it is now isn't bad, mind you... but could be a whole lot crisper and in your face. Really what needs to happen IMO is always feeling like you're right on top of the beat, if not just slightly in front of it.2) Raise the whole thing by 1/2 to a whole note. While it sounds just fine, I think your voice would sound better upped just a little here... Merely suggestions... so take 'em or leave 'em. But I really enjoyed the listen!

Cool Mark. I know what Zoom & Warren are saying. What you really need is a tambourine with a head played striking the head with the snare hits. (I need to go out & pick one up too) But hey, you use what ya' got right?Cool version!

Well, there it is, a tambourine for my Christmas Wish List. Actually, that's a good thing to mention to my teenage daughters...they never know what to get me, and that is something within their power to do. The trick will be to drop the hint without dropping the hint.I hear you zoom, but I ain't doing it again. But I will take out the Camel-Crushed shaker egg and play a real tambourine...probably after Christmas. Thanks everyone!

hell mark--this is what I'D do on the tamborine--(i bought mine used for $10 but though a bit beat up, it had the best sound of the lot)--just have the girls give you a gift certificate for the music or percussion store of your choice (after you pick it out LOL) and viola! you get the exact tambo you want--they do NOT all sound the same...(he said as if he's some tamborine expert...but i was amazed)--and you can probably pick up a used very nice one for 10-20...don't know what the tamborine market's like in the twin cities--or yeah, zoom's there someplace, borrow his! then tell him to finish our song!! (hi zoom, just kidding...what song?)but what bill up there kinda said (if not, i'll say it...) is what i was gunna say before i realized it wasn;'t real--duh--no wonder the sound...LOL--the old hit/downbeat is crucial IMHO--and that's why the damn thing for me anyway is so hard to record...but you should have zero problems...ok, enough tamborine, i'm gettin hungry... for dylanthe best,wh
