Electronica/Trip Hop Forward

Post by llama » Mon Mar 24, 2008 4:15 pm

Hey y'all,I'm happy to annouce another forward for "Requiem in Ultraviolet". This is it's third forward so it is officially erotic, downbeat and now electronica/trip hop. Listing was:A wide range of great ELECTRONICA/TRIP HOP SONGS & INSTRUMENTALS from up-tempo club-like tracks a la the Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk, and Fatboy Slim to mid- and slow-tempo tracks a la Tricky, Portishead, and Morcheeba are needed by a West Coast-based Music Publisher who typically supplies music to companies such as Muzak (tracks for retail shops, restaurants, malls, etc.). He's now expanding his repertoire and wants to find great material for the upcoming TV season, as he has numerous contacts in that world as well. Male or female vocals are OK. He's asked us to be extra selective in what we forward - he wants quality over quantity - so your vocal and instrumental performances must be excellent. And your tracks/songs also need to be of the highest quality. Please do not submit material with profanity and/or samples that have NOT already been cleared. He offers numerous types of publishing deals. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit two to three songs online or per CD, include lyrics/photo/bio. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Feb. 25, 2008. TAXI # S080225ELIn case you want to hear the piece it is athttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=8532 ... trueThanks to listener 254 for your encouraging comments, and thanks to you guys on the forum for all your support.Derek

Derek,Yeah, I remember hearing this one. Congrats to ya'! I agree with Flat. It does speak volumes about it. Cool. Glad to hear you're having success with this one. There's a deal waiting in the wings somewhere, I'm sure. This is a good track for a television or movie scene, no doubt.ibanez468

Hey, my friend. This is VERY cool news, indeed. Especially the fact that it's been forwarded for three different types of listings. ALWAYS a good sign. I'd be willing to bet this one has a deal with your name on it coming down the pike someday. Here's hoping it happens sooner than later.Way to go.Congrats.Ted

Really cool track! It's smokey and blue and sexy and futuristic all at the same time. Definitely deserves a forward. Makes me think of the bar in Star Wars, or it could have worked in Blade Runner, stuff like that. Good work.Elser

Thanks everyone for the nice words here. It's great to have such a support base.Hey DJ you were asking what production tools I use. For this it was mostly NI Reaktor 5 with some loops thrown in and also Dimension Pro and Rapture soft synths for the lead lines, chords and bass etc. I haven't tried Stylus RMX yet but I'd like to try it out one day.Derek

Great track...this has 1000 uses, I'm sure. Nice to see you getting so much attention on a very versitile piece. I know a few DJs that would even mix this in early in the night at a club.Nicely done!
