Gave up guilt when I left the ol' school girl uniform behind. You know, cute little skirts and knee socks, nuns and rulers and all that.

Ya know, I'm curious to hear some more opinions on this. I mean, check my record, I've reviewed a lot of material here, yet this is getting buried? Is it because Cj is involved? I would certainly hope not.

Re: The Mirage
Yeah, I liked it as a piece to groove to for sure. Good production all around and nice writing. As you said, it is what it is.Stephen, it's possible that you might get more feedback if you were to be more specific about what kind of feedback you are looking for. I think you pretty much nailed it in your first post but maybe if you asked questions like: is it good for film/tv, how is the mix, do you think the vocals are grooving, and so on, it would be easier to give specific feedback. In my case, it's not about CJ, I've steered clear of any of that controversy, I just don't know what more to say about the piece that you already haven't said.Nice work.Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Re: The Mirage
Point taken Mazz and thanks for checking it out. I think with this piece I'm mainly just trying to find a place for it, as well as the other Phantom Music Box tracks. I haven't really nailed a home for any of it.Advice?

Re: The Mirage
Part of the game is knowing what genres and artists your music is closest to and then targeting those opportunities. One piece of feedback you could solicit is "what artist does this sound like". Some people hate to have their music categorized which is fine, but the industry runs on categories, otherwise, how would they communicate and market? You have to think the same way if you want to find placements for your music.Once you know where a piece stands in the market, then you can target TAXI listings and so forth with confidence. You'll probably get some differing opinions but if you average them out and check out what artists are mentioned, you'll get a pretty good reading.Hope this helps!Mazz

Re: The Mirage
GuysVery trippy. I thought that (tasty) drum loop could’ve skipped or filled a bit towards the endI’m a sucker for the ear candy: the guitar textures and the female chants are very, very cool. Maybe even more of the chants?I struggled to make out quite a few of the lyrics – more a mix thing than a singing thing, I’m sure. Or maybe a genre thing? Maybe a ‘my ears’ thing? Certainly nothing at all wrong with the vox as far as I can hear, CJ.Good production. Like I said, lots of interesting ear candy. Which I dig. Have no idea what listing it might suit (not my area) but there’s sure to be something. CJ, is that you at the end with the basso ‘independent music’ line?
