2 more forwards for Heavy Metal Instrumentals!

Post by bigbluebarry » Mon Mar 24, 2008 12:55 pm

A range of great, authentic-sounding HEAVY METAL INSTRUMENTALS [no vocals] are wanted by a U.K.-based Music Library/Publishing Co. for TV placement. Style-wise, think along the lines of Iron Maiden, Tool, Mastodon, Killswitch Engage, Shadows Fall, Diecast, Korn, etc. They don't want tracks that sound like they were obviously MIDI generated - authenticity and great performances are the keys. Both instrumentals with lead melody lines and basic backing tracks that serve as "soundbeds" are OK - they want both. All tempos are OK. Track length should be in the 1:00 - 3:00 range. At this point they work mostly with prominent U.K. TV channels such as the BBC and ITV, but also supply music to other production companies that broadcast worldwide. If forwarded for D071024HM, please do not submit the same material. They offer non-exclusive, 50/50 deals. Broadcast quality needed [great sounding home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Mar. 12, 2008. TAXI # S080312HMI had two tracks get forwarded! The Curse of Daylight - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... ream=1Dark and Overcast - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=1Anybody else get forwards? Post'em if you got'em and let's all share in the excitement!

Bigbluebarry: could you hear the scream at the end of "The Curse of Daylight"? That was me this morning when I noticed the fade out...."It can't be over yet!!! NOOOOOOOO!!"Nils: I love the way you saved the heavy guitar and bass drum on "Gentle Aggressions" for later...they sneak up on you perfectly.Well done!

Thanks Derek and devin! Devin, one of the comments in the critique was that I shouldn't have used a fade out. I didn't want to have a fade out but the listing said the song should be between 1 and 3 minutes long. The only way that was gonna happen was to use a fade out. Since the time I've submitted that song, I've begun to notice that when the listing says 1 to 3 minutes, I could have actually gone over 3 minutes and been ok. That said, I'll probably re-mix it and ditch the fade out

(Daltry-inspired scream returns as volume comes back up on "The Curse of Daylight")"Yaaaaaaaaaaa!"I did the same thing on my first submission...still waiting to hear what the fade earns in feedback. At least we "won't get fooled again."(Sorry...couldn't resist....)
