Worth a second look?
Hey friends!Ol' Dave Kershaw inspired me to dig up an old acoustic instrumental I've been hacking out over the years. After listening to his 30 year old diamond in the rough, I uploaded this one. Originally put this one together in 2002... ...I think. The recording is horrible... ...this is just a rough demo... ...basically to get the ideas down.No need for comments on the production.I'm basically asking a few things here...1. Anyone interested in reinventing this song within a collab?2. Is this song even decent enough to reinvent?Instrumentals have their place, and I'm not really sure where this one would sit... ...I'm guessing in film somewhere or in between bong hits... ...your guess is as good as mine. Maybe vocals are possible?Anyways... ...if you have time check it out. All comments appreciated.http://www.audio-village.com/kickapps/_ ... 29713.html

Carousel on Acid!!! Nice.... I like it... can't help with a collab but I would suggest if you do steal some of the sounds from carousel music for your rhythm section.... I would work on it.... but then I have a 24 year old cassette that I view as a gold mine so I might be biased here...Good tune!!Peace, Geo

Stephen,I'm a sucker for acoustic guitars playing together, so I enjoyed listening. Although I think the song could easily work as an instrumental (very engaging and accessible), I would take a stab at adding lyrics to this one. To me, the underlying harmony sounds very supportive for a vocal melody.Vince

I think you should remake it, and do a version with only acoustic guitars. It's a waste not to do it! The make a full version as well, if you have any ideas. Yes, maybe som vocals would be nice on this one as well! If you do two versions, you better your chances of getting a forward!

I've been pondering multiple ways to attack this. Might add piano, etc. But having a few seconds of a carousel before the song begins might have a cool effect. I will have to play with it.Thanks for checking it out man.

I might take another stab at it. Right now, I'm thinking on just recording the thing right and adding more instrumentation and possibly going from there.Sucker for acoustics huh? Boy do I have some material for you then!

Adding vocals will certainly tame down all the lead guitar work. I think it would be to chaotic having everything going at once. So two versions may be the way to go. Thanks for the advice my friend and the listen!

That ain't old!!!!Yeah, it's a nice tune.I think it's a bit long though. It's been everywhere by three minutes. At 0:40, bring a different, second guitar in, playing the samemelody to buld it, instead of going up an octave.Keep the two guitars going, then drop back to that one guitar at 1:34. At 1.54 bring back the second guitarTake it a crescendo at 2:14 and Hey Presto!Play it through, and see if you get what I mean with those timelines. It does have that carousel feel.Nice one!
I put the kettle on, it didn't suit me.

What of adding vocals? Any insight there?
