I would push the drums up a touch... but my genre's rock.... drums gotta be front and center so yours might be cool.... personal preference/genre thing....Thanks for the kind words on my thread..... were a lot alike .... though my song was only written 20 years ago!Good luck with this!!!Peace, Geo

Really nice Dave... and very relaxing. I was at first reminded a bit of Sleep Walk, but then heard George Harrison in the guitar. Nice job on the strings too. You could bring the vocals up in the mix a bit though.Cam

Cold beer?? What kind of Englishman are you? Reminds me of an old English sports car joke: You know why the English drink warm beer? Because they have Lucas refrigerators!Cam

Hi Dave. I'm arriving very late to this thread, so have only listened to your most updated post ("dropped the strings and centered the snare"). I did read all the previous posts.I do hear the "Sleepwalk" reference and that's a good one as it could put the song in a good "a la" position for anything of that era/ilk.I think the strings work fine, but I'd probably expirement with them an octave higher to hear how that sounds (maybe in certain passages).Do you have any delay on the lead guitar part? I'd probably try a hair more. The snare volume sounds fine, but I think it's the wrong snare! It sounds too modern and tight for this song. Can you substitute other snare types in Session Drummer, maybe experiment with a few different spaces (reverb environments)? It'd be great to hear if you and Stephen come up with a collab; otherwise, I think this song is ready to go--congrats!BTW, it'd be fun to post before and after versions of songs that were originally recorded, say, 10-20 + years ago.Vince

Thanks Vince.I was just listening to "I was there" as your post came through! Spooky!!Yeah, there's some delay in there. Will have another listen to it and that snare. There are plenty of alternatives in SD.See you over at your thread.Dave.
