ORANGE COLORED SKY / New Age/ feed
R-MANS BACK... FIRST OF (3)...Give it 2 me all barrels..... Got lot a time 2 tweak. http://www.taximusic.com/download/18741 ... tal.mp3NEW LISTING -- NEW AGE INSTRUMENTALS that are relaxing, melodic and not too dark are needed by an Austrian Production Company with Major Distribution. Once again, this company needs a fresh batch of fantastic New Age Instrumentals for a comp CD that will be marketed and distributed to European Wellness Hotels. While the tone needs to be very relaxing and soothing, the company would also like to hear some interesting and unique melodic/production approaches. These arrangements should be simple but not stark - full instrumentation, not solo, will be preferable. Instrumentals only for this one, please. Great performances are needed as always and these tracks must be broadcast quality. Their deal is a non-exclusive license along with mechanical royalties paid per unit sold. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than December 26, 2008. TAXI # Y081226NATHANKS GUY'S ....jAY..

Dude this is cool.... I just don't know if it's mellow enough... it's mellow... but a little busy maybe.... now Dude you know me... not sitting around drinking herbal tea cleansing my colon or something... so no expert here... just my impression... maybe solo the instruments separately? I think Geoff got a forward with a 9 minute New Age sub so if it went longer I think you're OK....Bass might sound too aggressive.......It's good.... just when I delve into the listing that's what struck me...Still a cool track!!!Peace, Geo

Jay,Yes, cool music and probably what they're looking for on this listing. I think the instrumentation is right here, except for the bass, which sounds and feels too "rocky." I'd probably use a synth bass with slower attack (fretless?).The other thing that detracts for me is that in the intro you're using some sort of percussive sound that has a repeating delay on it. A few of the hits are slightly off-time and the delays seem to come in off beat also. I think the listener is OK with rhythmic stuff happening, but it needs to be something that puts you in a trance state, not something that could interfere with that goal.About 2/3 the way through, it does start sounding a little busy to me. In this genre, I expect to hear one melodic/rhythmic instrument at a time, with the others as "pads."All in all, sounds pretty close to me.Vince

Re: ORANGE COLORED SKY / New Age/ feed
hey jay, cj is my name ...I'm not hearing the aggressive bass that is being talked about but then again, I really dig super over the top busy low ends so I'm a bit jaded by taste ....otherwise, to make a long story short - I like the mood of this piece and I like how you've taken it on so understated.I have some experience with background music placed in specific locales so I feel qualified to say that I know of a few places where this could fit right in. (unfortunately, as an installer of equipment, and not a decision maker of material, I can't help you in that way but this is a keeper for certain rooms. also unfortunately, I think the people who make the choices of material don't know a goddamn thing about anything so that's not good for you either - but the piece has a lot of merit.)good luck with it.
Gave up guilt when I left the ol' school girl uniform behind. You know, cute little skirts and knee socks, nuns and rulers and all that.

Hi there! Well, the higher notes on the bass are a little to "funky" i Think, they do punch through, maybe use a softer bass sound. Really liked the sound image overall. The flute is sounding really nice, not too edgy. Maybe clear up the instrumentation at the end, it was very "everything" at once. I liked the piece! Thought it was very calming and if you make some minor changes! Well, think you will hit the target!

Jay,I think you did a great job on this. It was very calming and I could see it being used in Euro Wellness Hotels (hey that sounds nice) anytime. Sounds like a forward to me...

Hey R-man,FWIW I think you have nailed this one.....I didn't hear anything untoward on this piece. Can imagine this flowing over the PA system of a wellness hotel somewhere in deepest Europe....Good luck with thisDerek
