back stabbin gossip hound..thanks all for the help
I have been kicking this around for the last couple of weeks. When I play it in the studio it has a great bass sound, but when I send it here, I can't hear the bass at all. Let me know if you can hear it?Looking for a gal to sing this. My niece might? Her voice might not be sassy enough. Please exuse me trying to get those high notes. (especially when I say the word "me") Yikes!!Tried to get two verses, three chorus and a bridge.Lots of power chords, not much finess:)The song is called "gossip hound". It is a raw demo so far.http://www.taxi.com/feaker GossipHey you, ya talkin bout meA little whisper did I seeSpreadin rumors, spreadin liesIt's all because you've got those thunder thighsYa like the story then make it betterMake it juicy, pass it in a letterIt's now your own, you must be proudThe hurt is on, you've joined the crowdYou're a back stabbin gossip houndWhy'd you put this on meTalk it up, you talked it all over townThis will come back, come back aroundJust you wait and seeTalk it up, you talked it all over townBet you're happy Im' the talk of the townAre ya thinkin, it's getting me downOne little thing I forgot to mentionI'm really likin all this new attentionHey look, they're talking bout youA little whisper, could it be trueAre they rumors, are they liesOr once again those thunder thighsDon't you know about the golden ruleSpreadin poison just ain't coolSpose it's better to forgive..forgetI'll be watching you when you get yours yet

Re: back stabbin gossip hound...comments please
Feaker,I like the premise, although I take issue with "a little whisper did I see". It's hard to understand and (whisper makes more sense with hear). I'm not sure how thunder thighs fits but maybe I'm missing something. The tune rocks and the lyrics are cool. I don't scream vocals myself but this song could use a screamer IMO. Hard to tell about bottom end on my squeakers. I can hear the bass and it's poppin pretty good but may be needs something to tighten it up. Did you try notching it out against the bass drum? If not that might help.Personally I'd prefer to hear the ending chord resolve somehow rather than twist. Just My 2 pesos.KitzKitz

Hi kitzI guess I was thinking you actually could see visually when people are talking about you from even across the room. Hence, I pictured young ladies with shielded hands whispering back an forth without actually hearing them? This story all started from a little teenage catfight my niece was telling me about. The lyrics do need an overhaul. Just wanted to get it rolling and get some feedback.Don't know how to notch out the bass vs drums yet. I did, for the first time, EQ the lows out of the vocal.I do not like singing my own songs. I am not a singer. My niece is my only other singer right now and I am reluctant to use her. Need a Joan Jett type. The end is pretty pathetic for sure. Unfortunately, I had had it by then. That will be reworked. Thanks a lot for your 2 pesos.Paul

Dude, good song Seriously..... I just listened and first thought was Tween Rock... thunder thighs is a catty insult girls throw around ... got that....For the chorus....You're a back stabbing _____ !You talked it all over townI can't say what I really wantYou're just a gossip houndOK bitch goes there but if you aim at the teen crowd and you want Miley or someone to sing it (OK dreaming here but it's the song's genre) you can't use the word.... not too Disney ... but leave it blank.... the audience will fill in the blank ..I will hunt you down if you don't finish this one ...Peace, Geo

Hi Geo, good to hear from you.Nobody was responding, so I thought maybe it really sucked:)When I first sang it, I actually sang "son of a ----", so you aren't far off there! My wife was at work or she would have clobbered me.The lyric there has to show she is pissed for sure. I bet "gossip hound" is old fashioned anyway.Thank you for your take on it. Everything helps.Paul

Hi Feaker,Cool tune. I'm looking forward to hearing your next version.Ever hear of the Ting Tings? I hadn't until a couple of weeks ago, when my daughter gave me a CD of her favorite dance tunes. There's a song they do called "Shut up and let me go". I thought I'd mention it to you because this might be the kind of sassy vocal style you're going for. Hope this helps.Best regards,Al

This would make a great 80's arena rock tune! I can hear the bass freak but I'm using cans. Yup I hear Mötley Crüe doing this one easy. Lol, that's just where my head goes though but with some big Tommy Lee drums and hi lead vox like Vince Neil. Mick Mars' guitar work would be perfect too. Ok back to earth this tune could make a really groovy in you face metal tune!

AlNever heard of the "ting ting's". Try to find then on u-tube to hear that style.wtaI put down two tracks of bass. One was pumping and the other just on accents. The latter I ran thru my LA 610 with a really cool sound.Unfortunately the drums are off my Roland drum machine. If this song does progress, I will get a friend in to "do um up right".Looking forward to putting in the guitar fills now. That is the fun part. Was hoping someone would say "I'll sing that baby for you"Thanks guys for the help. Your 2 cents is appreciated.Paul

Good one, Paul. I like the 80's sound. Good vocals, too. I like the "what goes around comes around" angle. Glad to hear you post some music, Grampy. Wig

Hi WigYa, I taught shool for 30 years. Saw a lot of that. Especially the gals. Hssssssssss.Hard to find a topic to sing about that hasn't already been taken.I am stuck with only the live guitars right now. Thinkin about getting a sound library and maybe some mastering stuff. Always like brass. Remember the Buckinghams. Bend me shape me? Way back there. Liked that intro.thanks Wig
