My Grandpa Reworked
Hey Ya'll,After reviewing comments on this song from taxi and cj I have done some work on My Grandpa. Basically cj noticed that the melody on the verse and the chorus was too similar and after listening I decided he was right. I did'nt change it too much but I did change it some so if any one cares to comment I'd really appreciate it.The new link is http://www.taximusic.com/stream/158068/ ... %29.mp3The previous version is http://www.taximusic.com/stream/187350/ ... hanks,Kitz

I'm honored that you'd take such notice of my thoughts kitz ... can you fix that link so I can hear what you've done? I've done a few of these url replacement guesses and it's hit or miss ...

Hey Kitz... this sounds much better!!! Singer is good!! You? I'm guessing yes cause of the subject and emotion.... nice!! Music is awesome, cool intro!!Couple of small things stood out......Vocal sounded a little hot when it came in.... just the "ride along"... everything else sounds good......Oh just caught that harmony.... nice...Drums feel disjointed... this is the chorus & outro..... when you have two tom hits the second feels outa time..... Also the ride .... same thing.... I dunno... I think if the ride tapped out more of a rhythm .... like.....tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4Like it? My lack of musical theory is most evident!!That's it though... great job!!!Peace, Geo

kitz, that's right. you broke it up very well .... and the added intimacy you put into it works so much better as well.I think you've hit it melodically now - I knew there must be plenty of room in there to create great flow without being redundant.props to you for making the change and grats on having it turn out so much better. btw - I hear you still have a little bit of hesitancy on the new verse melody here and there - it'll get stronger as you forget the old and embrace the new. don't be afraid to rerecord as it becomes more solid.

Thanks alot cj!! You noticed things I never really thought about. It took me a while and quite a few reads to figure out what you were saying but once I realized it - it was like wham!! you know he's right!! I also worked the little herky jerky guitar on the end. Moved one note and that made it so much smoother to me. I'll work on the hesitancy you speak about. Thanks for all the help!!Kitz
