Re: Critique it 'This Time'
Agreed. No crying here about the verdict. I get all my no's out of the way and move on. HOWEVER, I can accept the opinion of someone who I can say, I trust to be knowledgable in the field of XYZ, and with the comments made, I can see why these scores are the way they are, therefore this decision is absolute.I guess my second guessing the screener is my equivilent of the "instant replay" in sports. Let's slow down the action and see what really the refs saw. Refs decisions can be overruled. I'm not asking for a second listen or a re-listen. I value imput and constructive critique, BUT and that's a BIG BUT, if it's from a mentor or intuitive source. If no one questioned authority, even a little, we woudn't have America. Art is subjective. "Good" is all relative to one's personal taste. I think Jim Carey is a great actor, while some others think he's a joke.Example of my other song ODDS ARE that received a poor review. I't's getting cut in January. Nothing is absolute with the critiques, and i know that. Most every label turned down Toby Keith, The Beatles, the hit song "I Swear".It doen't bother me if someone tore up my lyrics, those are from me, but low scores on engineering, vocals, music, etc. when it comes from high sources baffles me, and makes me question the validity of the listener. That's all. The scores makes me scratch my head and wonder why I took the time and money to use the best, when obviously it really doen't make a difference? This makes me not want to spend five bucks a song, thinking in MY MIND it's a waste.Dale
