Only In Your Arms (Please Critique)

Post by kitz » Mon Nov 03, 2008 7:12 am

I would love your comments on this piece. It's still in production so anything you notice I can work with. Please let me know what you think. Here's a song:http://www.taximusic.com/stream/182395/ ... 0II.mp3For this listing:ORCHESTRAL/DRAMATIC INSTRUMENTALS for Film Trailers and various Film/TV placements are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). They need to hear real instruments or EXTREMELY convincing MIDI tracks. In the words of the Music Director, "We shun bad MIDI like a plague...". Be sure that you send in arrangements and performances that sound authentic and fantastic! They want every track to have a succinct and natural ending - no abrupt cut-offs or fades. There are no specific edits required for this one, but be sure each piece is 1-3 minutes in length - you'll also want to be sure you have the ability to quickly turn around edited segments upon request, should the company contact you. They like to hear a lot of movement in the pieces, with dramatic/suspenseful variation and build. Broadcast quality is necessary, though excellent home recordings should be fine. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than November 14, 2008. TAXI #Y081114INThanks,Kitz

Kitz,Very nice piece. Excellent guitar playing and very interesting musical ideas. I just wonder if it's "ORCHESTRAL" enough? When I read this listing I was thinking more strings and such. That's just one mans interpretation. That being said, I hope you get a forward. You deserve one for the song and the playing. Best of luck!!Chris

Hi Kitz.....It's a great sounding piece but off target I think..... I don't have much experience in this genre except the chance to listen to some great compositions here.... but the vibe I get here is more uplifting and triumphant not so much dramatic.... I think the classical guitar defines it that way...Good work!! I'm sure it will find a home... but maybe not for this listing...Peace, Geo

Purely on the piece, the drums (especially) snare sounded weak in the breakout sections. I could almost imagine taking them out entirely. Perhaps the piece would have an interesting quality if it had no drums at all? (I'd keep the shimmering cymbals)Just a thot. gw

gw,I tried removing the drums and it just sounded real thin. I did work the drum part over and got the snare up as well. Same link as above. Thanks,Kitz

hey Kitz, I tried to give a listen but I got an error message. I don't know why but once in a bluemoon my computer can't play the Taxi files.
