Mr. Jaded

Post by billg » Sat Nov 01, 2008 3:52 pm

Everyone is putting up such good songs tonight that I thought I'd spoil the party with something sloppy. I put this together this afternoon & it needs tons of work. I know the vocals need big time eq surgery, & I've got a flat place in one of the choruses that needs to be fixed. Actually, I'm trying to decide if I like it. Oh well, herehttp://www.billgaunce.com/song/2

Man, bloody great vocals. I hear where yur headed with this and its poppy alright with a tich of 60's feel. I can here this in a modern chick flick with a guy walking out on a cheatin girlfriend or something, definatly a comedy type film/tv show... Do it baby... ;-) wta

I dont hear any soundalikes. This is totally unique and original. You have to be the most original sounding cat around here Bill. I dont really understand the first verse but the rest of the song fits like a glove. Awesome vocal melody/harmony thing. I cant place it anywhere. Maybe an Old Genesis type thing but I grasping for straws on that.I also hear a tv/film idea here.M~

Thanks you guys. I know this is really hard to put into a genre. I had been listening to some Honeydogs (My absolute FAVORITE band for about 10 yrs. now). They do this great alt/country/pop Beatles influenced (to me) stuff that slides between all of the cracks but is still just really cool. Here's a link, check 'em out. They write fantastic songs.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUYLC3X_ ... latedGuess I'll try to clean this thing up a bit.

Honeydogs sound cool...but I like your stuff (including this song) better Bill!I wish I was a better listings-navigator person to find a path for this tune. I'd work on "Mr. Jaded" just because I think it's a cool song, although I can understand wanting to see a home for it first.
Earplugs may be required for anyone over the age of cool.

Love the guitars, Bill. Yeah, I hear a little "Rain" in there too.You amaze me how you just crank them out (and find time to get on the forum too). Do you ever sleep? Cam

Matt, check out Amazon, they have all of their albums & you can check out the tunes if you want. I think you'd like 'em a lot.Devin, I know there will probably never be a listing for this . . . I wouldn't even know what genre or ala either. Cam, thanks. Actually I've been slack. This is the first song I've written/recorded in two weeks!I've got the last version up now. I was able to clean it up quite a bit, think I'm gonna leave it as is & work on something else .

Bill, this is SO good...I can't find a durn thing wrong with it. Great work!I like the lyrics too...I refer to myself as jaded sometimes, so I can identify. Good melody, good production, good vocals, good everything.
