billTruth be told, first listen a couple of days ago, I thought it was just a so-so song. Second listen this morning, has me liking it. How can that be?I hear early beatles background (kinda "you can do that") Bet I am the only one that makes that comparison. Simple but catchy guitar line.I don't know about being rough. Think it might have to be.Like the video. No overplay by anybody, keyboard player looked awfully bored at the start. Wierd chord change that makes the song. I bet that is what you like.Anyhow, liked the whole experience.ThanksPaul

I like this, Bill. Your work kind of grows on me. At first I was thinking that you were kind of a Dylan clone, but you are original. The loose style is something that we could all use more of. You think that it need work and tightening up, but I'm thinking that Waits wouldn't think that way and why should you. This is good work. I'm behind it all the way.Too bad I'm not a TAXI screener.Wig

Neat tune idea. Struck me you might use "won't mean jack " just a thought. Very original. Love the vocal twists. Let it percolate a bit and I think it will make a fine brew.Kitz

Hello Bill, lots of interest here. Made me think of Elvis Costello and, funnily enough, Steely Dan. A very strong commercial finish. If you do go back for any edits, my comment would be to be extremely careful with the first couple of lines, because they are complex analogies that suddenly arrive on the listener (who may not have the lyrics available), so your lyric has to start clear on the nail, otherwise you may lose 'em a bit. But, there have been a million famous songs that have never heard of my advice (or me for that matter!) Nice work. Now, another subject all together, did you build your own website? It's a goodie. Very tidy and "to the point". I thought it was like "sound click" or similar, but then I thought it must be just your own tailor-made site. Best wishes, Michael W.

Hey BillVery cool! Chorus sticks like glue.Have you changed something in the way you record vocals? Sound very clear to me. 'Time keeps coming like a lynch mob' another great line, man.

Thanks Chits!Paul you deserve some kind of medal. No one listens to a song for more than 30sec. anymore unless they love it right away. Some of my favorite songs grew on me.Thnaks Wig for the compliment. The truth is, most of my stuff is loose because I'm both impatient and lazy . . . a bad combo that I can't seem to overcome.Warren . . . a sweatshirt Yeah kitz, I didn't think about this grammatically. Whenever I hear (or use!) the term it's usually "that don't mean jack-s&%t" . . . might be a regional thing.Michael, I agree. I actually had the first verse as the second and vice-cersa and them switched them . . . might have been a mistake. But I really don't see this song as having a "life" outside of my own cd or something.Hey Liam! I should be embarrased to even post this song after you posted "Come Home"!My ears are sooooo bad that I'm usually tring to bring the vocals out with eq. This time I spent a LOT of time trying to eq the rest of the song around the vocals. It's hard for me but I think I can get the hang of it. BTW . . . The only thing I had when I started on this was the "lynch mob" line. Kind of like those tv commercials where they build a house around the design of a faucet!

Hey Thanks, I love the DBs. I went up & checked out your "One Man Band" stuff pretty cool.See that you're from Baltimore . . . to bad they shut down that dime museum place. That was a very cool ( but strange) place.
