Post by jpmuzic » Mon Oct 27, 2008 9:35 pm

Hello my name is JP I'm new to the Taxi Family here and I wanted to get some reviews as to what do you think about my music. I receive a listing back and it was good and they told me real good but it didn't make it which I am cool with but I wanted to see what did you guys think. It is Gospel with a urban sound to it so tell me what you think thanks guys. Just click on my taxi page and listen to the first I don't want to Bore you. http://www.taximusic.com/hosting/home.p ... st=JPMUZIC

Hey jpmuzic!Sounds GOOD! Don't see any reason why ya' wouldn't/couldn't have any success with your music! Just make sure ya' read the listings VERY carefully and keep submitting. I'm positive you'll hit the mark sooner or later, no doubt. Good luck to ya' and all future endeavors!I-468

HI Mr JPMusic - I agree with Feaker - wow, what a lovely standard. I love your voice, your harmonisation and instrumentation. Two things come to mind - you are in a field that really does have the best in the world. I'm not knowledgable enough to pick what are the differences between yourself and the world famous ones - but I bet you have your own suspicions - and it's in everyone one of those things that Taxi will drive you to produce even better results. (Actually I do have one idea - the energy!! Say Earth Wind and Fire - energy right to the edge! There's probably space to drive it even harder 'til people are on the edge of their seat with the energy) I'm almost a little bit superstitious about song titles. I think they are very important and I would suggest you accentuate the positive and use the "what God has done for me" line, rather than the "bore you" line, because people go into your song with that quality in mind. Again, I love your voice and I wish you were singing my stuff. Good luck.

Great tune...now I'm listening to everything else too. I love the ending...some folks would say to stay away from "fade out" endings (if your tune is destined for a TV application, they like the "button" ending). But I like the ending you've used here, with the vocal rising a bit above...nice! So I guess I'm saying I wouldn't change this tune, as I think the genre sounds best when the song has a nice fade... I'd agree with Michael34 for sure...make your title & hook are the same, and make sure they are prominent and represent what the song's all about. That way people can hear it on the radio, and they'll know what mp3 to go buy!Peace...good stuff!

Really Nice. I hear some Stevie in spots. Nice harmonies. The title might need a little more work. Keep it going!!Kitz
