ANOTHER 1 UP 4 REVIEW!!-- REVISED
Hey TAXIdermites!Puttin' another one up for review. I may be waaayyy off with this one (if so, I think it may have a chance at some other listing), but perhaps your input can help me decide. Lemme know whatcha think! MODERN ROCK/HARD ROCK INSTRUMENTALS are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). It's vital that the tracks have a lot of variation and dynamic shifts, with momentum and build. You'll want to focus on high energy, uptempo tracks with a clear forward movement and compelling dynamics. A current, radio-ready tone is essential for this one! You can submit tracks that range between 1-4 minutes in length and be sure there are NO VOCALS on these tracks.Against The ClockAlright fellas! Here's the revised version. I think this is more along the lines of what everybody suggested. Do I even need ta' bother with changing the synth sound now? Lemme know!Against The Clock 2I-468

(and agree)Like the chords starting at 25-38 and especially at 35Will be awaiting phase 2PaulSorry Feak! Don't know how I missed respondin' to ya'! My BAD!Thanks Feak! Your input is much appreciated! Phase 2 is here!Oct 28, 2008, 4:32am, anthony34 wrote:For me, you filled every word of that listing brilliantly. The synth sound was a great counter-foyle for the lead break. If you had used the lead guitar earlier, then there was nowhere for you to build to!Thanks for the compliment Michael! Yeah, that was kinda' my thinking too, that's exactly why I arranged it that way. But as Devin mentioned, I might not get alot of love from the screener with the synth sound. As you can see, it's already not receiving any. I'll try it as the others have suggested though and see what happens. I think what I'll do is try another version with a new synth sound AND also a version with guitars as well. Don't know if anyone can tell, but I actually did play that melody on guitar the second time around in unison with the synth. Oh well, back to the dungeon.Oct 28, 2008, 4:56am, wignelson wrote:I like the idea of a different synth patch or else just guitars. The rhythm guitar has a different verb than the synth so it sounds like they are in different rooms. You hear a slap-back on the git and the synth is totally dry. HTH WigWig, I can fix that. Just a matter of me nudging one of the stereo tracks for the synth, a few notches forward. That's basically what's going on with the rhythm guitar as well (no real reverb involved, just artificial delay). OOPS! I'm telling my secrets! I-468

Thanks for the suggestion though.Quote:Do another version and keep this one in your back pocket just in case....Well, that I plan on doin' for sure! I actually kinda' like that quirky-sounding synth, ta' be honest with ya'. Good thing I have this loaded up in Sonar 7. Adding new parts & muting unwanted parts makes things fairly easy. That's definitely one of the benefits of working with a DAW. Unlimited tracks! Sonar 7 does have unlimited tracks, doesn't it? I-468

Had the feel of progressive rock over modern rock, the keys being a big reason and the progression in places as well. YES keeps coming to mind when I think about it, the band that is.Yeah, well that's due to the specs in the listing. I had to try and go for some type of variation, so changing keys, I thought, would be a good variation. YES is a favorite band of mine, but they had no influence on me whatsoever. Matter of fact, I have no idea whose/what influence came over me. I was fooling around on my acoustic playing some of my favorite chords, and that progression came about. Quote:The bass seemed a bit hot too but really carried the groove.Bass being my second learned instrument, I'm like BillG when it comes ta' that thing. I like ta' make sure it's heard and not buried in the mix somewhere. I've seen a number of times where reviewers (here & other places, magazines, etc..) ask "where's the bass?" I'll almost never be guilty of not providing enough bass. Quote:Ya, focus on guitar for modern rock for sure and that guit solo was a shredder mate, well done! We'll do mate! Thanks alot! And thanks for the listen!I-468

Hey Buddy! They both sound awesome to me! Why dont you submit both? If you dont submit them at the same time, you'll prob. get 2 different screeners. You never know!
