Shine (Please Critique)

Post by kitz » Tue Oct 28, 2008 5:31 pm

Hi ya'll,Was wondering if I could get some feedback on this instrumental:http://www.taximusic.com/stream/158106/Shine.mp3Here's the listing:SMOOTH JAZZ INSTRUMENTALS a la Brian Culbertson, Paul Brown, Dave Koz, Najee, the Yellowjackets, etc. are again wanted by an Independent Music Publisher for placement in Muzak-type applications (shops, restaurants, malls, etc.). He's signed and placed many TAXI songs in the past. All tempos will be considered, but mid-tempo pieces are the easiest to place for this type of application. Performances should sound as if they're recorded by live musicians, so be careful to make sure that your sounds aren't too slick for this one. He really wants to find excellent Smooth Jazz and isn't interested in New Age or any other genre/style. Please keep your songs under 4 minutes in length. Broadcast quality needed [excellent home recordings are OK]. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS ONLY - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than October 29, 2008. TAXI #Y081029JZThanks,Kitz

Now that's SMOOOOOOOVE!Great job...I'm not very prominent with this genre, but it sure sounds nice to me. The mix is just right, with the drums perfectly supporting the tune.I'd buy stuff to this Kitz!
Earplugs may be required for anyone over the age of cool.

Very nice track. I wanna add that the bass tone is nice too, warm & realistic. I thought the guitar could have been just a bit louder, but I'm talking "subjective loudness" and not the kind of problem that detracts from the music. Betcha this is forwarded!

Thanks a lot you guys!! Thats a strat - I used lots of different switch settings on it. Wondering if the mix is too thin? Computer speakers make it hard to tell...Kitz
