Lady Stardust

Post by Mark Kaufman » Mon Oct 20, 2008 6:15 pm

I recorded this one just for fun and because I like to try to learn production by attempting songs I like.I didn't intend to post it, but then I read Warren's "Where the hell are the SONGS" message and figured I had darn well better! http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6992079

God job Mark. Have you given up sleeping? I mean, heck there's only so many hours in the waking day to record so you've got to be cheating somehow.

Blow away vocal track mate! Wow, man great job. I love Bowie and this tune... oh ya... NICE! My only issue that stuck out was it sounded a bit crowded but thats just me man we're in the "flavors of icecream" department with this tune, it all good baaaby, just down to flavor... '-) wta

Thanks everyone! I stayed away from it for a couple days and listened today. I think the vocal is maybe too hot and the piano too soft...and I go flat too much. But doing a Bowie song is an absolute blast. I used to open for bands as a solo act and I did several Bowie covers on acoustic...Space Oddity, Ziggy Stardust, It's No Game, Moonage Daydream, Five Years, Rock and Roll Suicide...used to freak out the audiences. Bill, I haven't been sleeping much, for real. Some sort of crash and burn is probably on the horizon. At least it's not because of drugs! Thanks for all the comments! -mk
