WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??

Post by heinsite » Mon Oct 20, 2008 5:27 pm

high fellow taxi-ites--i'm noticing a lack of new (or used...LOL) songs for us folks to critique, a definite dip in what maybe used to be TOO MANY, but heck, i might be wrong here, but there just doesn't seem to be as many posts of tunes on peer to peer as there used to be...just an observation, maybe incorrect, but sure seems like it.hell, is everybody doing what i am, resting after writing (and trying to mix...) damn near 5/6 hours a day for the last 4 years? and ergo, getting zero from it so far. but after the rally i'll be back at it, if not before. trust me, i'm feeling the burn out factor, just got a c/w "high bar" back with a 10, 9's and 8's but still just not quite good enough--but allot of encouragement. a new screener for me and mega good things to say though, so maybe things are looking---uh, SIDEWAYS?? maybe the lack of tunes is my imagination. and it has nothing to do with the tunes that HAVE been posted. just seems there was more a variety before about 2 months ago...the best, warren

Hum, Sideways is better than down, Warren! As for lack of songs haven't noticed it. Takes me so long lately to write something I can barely keep up with myself!

warrenSo you want variety do you:)Yes, traffic has been very slow. Taxi has thousands of members, but few use the forums. I bet they are all successful and don't need the coaching like I do:) I look at the birthdays each day and don't recognize anybody for weeks.I have become stale as well. Just decided I need a second hobby.later budPaul

I've been posting, Warren. In fact, you suggested that I posted too much, so I've been backing off. I'll post the title song of a musical I wrote later today. I'll PM you about it. Don't want to hijack your thread. Wig

I suspect there are more like me, quietly lurking...

hey Warren, here's one for you I actually posted this in the Listings section - http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... read=10033 - but what the heck, have at it...Here's the listing:CURRENT-SOUNDING,RADIO READY AAA/ALT ROCK/INDIE POP INSTRUMENTALS in the range of Editors, Arctic Monkeys, Dirty Pretty Things, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Bloc Party, Cold War Kids, The Libertines, Babyshambles, The Strokes, Muse, etc. are wanted by a very successful Production Music Library who has placements with ABC, CBS, NBC, WB, Disney, Discovery, Lifetime, Fox, USA, etc. (to name just a few). They want songs that build and grow, with melodic and dynamic variation. You may consider editing down a full-length song in order to avoid long sections of repetition, since this company NEEDS to have tracks that are changing & building constantly. You can submit tracks that range between 1-4 minutes in length and be sure there are NO VOCALS on these tracks. They want material that sounds like it could be on the radio, but will only be interested in Instrumental versions for this listing. Broadcast quality is necessary, though excellent home recordings should be fine. Please submit 1-3 Instrumentals online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than October 29, 2008.Here's the link:I Said Too Much - http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueThis is slightly new territory for me, trying the indie rock stuff that is. Am I close?- Big BlueUPDATE: I made a few tweaks to the song and re-uploaded it. I cut the intro in half, brought the piano up a bit, and took the strings out until the 2nd verse (instead of them coming in at the 1st verse).
Imagine a steel cage match between Daughtry, Coldplay, Paramore and Demon Hunter with Joe Satriani as the referee...
