Re: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??
You know, I'm kind of glad it's been slow. I feel guilty if I don't review everything that appears on peer-to-peer, but there just isn't enough time time for my day job, plus writing, recording, mixing and posting when I get home. Anymore, I just try to respond to the ones that are in (or close to) my genre.Cam

Re: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??
Ive noticed it as well. ]As for me and my co-writer, we took off on 4 new tunes and are now lost in them. Good and bad thing I guess. Im going to post some work demos to get a feel for yalls ideas. And Warren, SCREW THE HIGH BAR!!!! Your stuff is good. if it aint getting through the screeners, there are plenty of ways to pitch.Ill keep posting demos because i really value the responses I get from you guys. I prefer honesty and you all are honest beyond reason sometimes. but thats what we need.Seriously, if my ass looks fat in these pants then for god sakes tell me!!!! I see a few listings coming up we are gonna go for. High bar or not. I AINT SKEERED of that damn bar.

Re: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??
Now I know warren you can't be referring to me with all this. I've had up 3 tunes in the last week or two. I'm with matt on the high bar thing, hang it! Warren you're stuff is really good and its just more motivation to get a publisher and get in contact with some music supervisors... It's like Dave said in his post about the screener process he sat in on, if the screener don't hold the guideline they get canned so there just can't be any painting outside the lines cause if a tune breaks the guidelines they've got to return it. I'll be frank, I could give a rip about getting forwarded, if I'm not signing a deal it's all just semantics. '-) wta

Re: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??
whoa--well my friends, that is WAY beyond what i thought would be the quality and # of responses--now to speak in a "shotgun" way, you all know WHO YOU ARE that post to the peer to peer--and if you're postin' someplace else, tell us,,,some of us have limited time!!!! LOL!! i wasn't talkin' about anybody in particular, just the #s man, just the numbers. i've heard all your reasons, and thank heavans they're good ones....and if i'm wrong about the # of posts, i'm in la la land, but i don't think so. i'm hoping that "stuff" is coming down the pike for us all to listen to and critique, 'cuz that's what i thought this part of the board was for....but maybe i'm wrong--tell me!!hell, i'm goin' to the damned rally, trying to learn more "stuff", but already knowing that my tunes (the "finished" ones) are damned good, and that high bar thing that was mentioned (casey?) IT IS SCARING FOLKS MAN, IT IS MESSING WITH OUR MINDS, AND IS FLAT OUT GOING TO KILL TAXI, and this is just my opinion, so keep the cards and letters--come up to me at the rally, or PM me and tell me i'm full of crap...as always, love, peace and true happiness when you can find it my friends, the best to you, warren heintaxi infidel...but for DAMN good reasons...xoxoxo

oh BIG BLUE, specifically, 'cuz you posted a tune (almost forgot...LOL)you are well aware that i think you have GREAT TALENT MAN, and this instrumental is quite good, just a bit repetitive in places, and the intro a tad too long IMHO, and i dig the piano, but i'd like it to be more prominent IMHO, but man you are one talented dude, as i've told you here and on PM.keep up the good work my friend. very nice sound--again.warren

Re: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??
Thanks Warren... I just uploaded a revised version of the track. I've had a few people suggest that the intro was too long, so I chopped it in half and I brought the piano up a bit. Probably not as much as you would like though lol Though I did removed the strings from the 1st verse and 1st chorus so the piano will sound a bit more prominent in the 1st chorus. I am NOT a piano player AT ALL, this was really my first true attempt at trying to add piano and strings to a song. I know just enough about rhythms, melody and harmony to construct a VERY BASIC piano part, but what you heard in this song is probably the extent of what I can do at the present time.Thank you again for your kind words, I truly appreciate them.- Big Blue

Hey tripleB! The piano sounds good to me. Ok, maybe it wont go to 11 but still, sounds pretty good to me!

Re: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SONGS??
Hey Warren, sweepea:I'm sorry, haven't been around much lately, jes not much time. I try to keep up but there're jes too many boards, too many threads....it's crazy. However, regarding your question about a shortage of tunes lately, it was like this around the same time last year. Lotsa folks gettin' their tunes all lined up for the Rally. It'd sho seem a waste ta go and not have yo best tunes on a cd, right? It was a lil eerie around here fo a few weeks befo the big weekend and jes pretty bizarre after it so brace yo'se'f! Meantime, wish I had somethin' new foi ya to review, beanie. Might send you somethin' privately though......kinda in a new project, new direction lately and don't feel all comfie lettin' the cat out yet.

Trying to improve the quality before posting - or submitting - anything else!Watch this space! I hear that Dave!!! Spending a lot more time on production etc and not writing....Oh Warren I posted one for you!!http://taxi.proboards27.com/index.cgi?b ... 10083Peace, Geo
