High Octane Instrumental/Extreme Sports
There is a listing for Extreme Sports where they say the energy must be high. I'm still working on the mix (I always have lots of trouble when distorted guitars get introduced). I'd appreciate any feedback on whether you think this is appropriate for the listing and on how I can get this mix to gel better. http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... anfusilier

Wow, that's pretty intense! I'm really not qualified to offer advice here but I did want to drop in & tell that I thought it was cool . . . very high energy imo.

Re: High Octane Instrumental/Extreme Sports
Hey Bryan,Good ideas here. The mix is coming along. I suggest compressing the drums as a separate group from the rest of the orchestra and the guitars. It seems to me that it could be more intense, it hits a certain level and then just stays there. Some things I think would make it more intense and build a bit better would be:1. Your trumpets are playing too low, take them up at least a fifth. It takes more energy to play higher notes on brass instruments which adds a more intense feel. The midrange trumpet notes with everything else pounding away make it sound a bit mild.2. Starting with the 16th note toms seems like you leave yourself with nowhere to go. I'd start with the bum bum bah bum low drum rhythm you get to later as the intro under the intense guitars and then bring in the 16th toms when the orchestra comes in.3. The brass swells are good but put your trumpets in 5ths as you go along, this will sound more sports-like and more intense.4. Have the strings imitate some of the rhythms in the lower percussion. Adding a punchy drum in the background in unison with the strings will make them pop and will push the intensity.Just a few ideas and my opinions only, for what they're worth.Good stuff, keep going!Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

I really liked the rolling toms on the drums, and I thought the orchestral shriek noise in the intro was used too much..other than that sounded IN-TENSE!!
