Hi BellaSometimes it is hard to comment if you aren't knowlegeable about that genre. Usually, though, one can find something that is good about the piece. Does not even have to be that technical in nature. Some music here is near flawless. You listen and say wow, how did they get it that clean?I like your style. The mix is not as clean as it needs to be. There are folks here that can help.Don't be afraid to ask. The technlogy forum would be a great place to find out if your mic is correct etc?You sound very sincere. That's coolPaul

I will call Taxi and see what they think of a cha cha for world music. In a "real world" scenerio, I'd guess that the piano was recorded in the studio but that the drummer was playing in the kitchen/breakroom at the end of the hall. The reverb makes the drums sound f-a-r away. The timing between the two sounded a little loose but bringing the drums "closer" with less reverb might help tighten that up.

Thanks, Paul! I know what you mean. Some of the mixes I hear here are soooooo good I wonder how they did it. But I'll keep trying and asking. BTW, you should have heard the ones I did a year ago. Yes, Mr. Dave, I'll be moving those drums out from the kitchen!

hey brindabella--i heard the salsa thing right off too, but have to agree on the drums being too far back "in the kitchen" LOL... i admit i don't/didn't read all the post, but did the last one, and i agree.i have no right to tell anybody about mixes--that's why i send all my "best" work out to demo companies!.anyway, i dug this latin influenced piano piece. just can't hear the drums...and the reberb may need uplifting on it all, but DO NOT listen to me, casey and the other great folks here know more on the mixing and matching.nice tune, the best, warren
