My first new age instrumental

Hello Friends,I have a first draft of a new project available for listening. It's my first official new age project. Your feedback today will be very much appreciated, but please feel free to just stop by for a listen. I plan to listen to it today at work on small speakers and make plans to improve the mix and delete some unnecessary notes so I can submit it before the deadline tomorrow. Simple structure and instrumentation is all that's needed here, but the melodies should stand on their own. Meditative music that is smooth and easy to digest by the listeners could really hit the mark here. This company is not interested in solo tracks (piano, acoustic guitar, etc.) but rather a meeting ground between a full arrangement and a solo - sparse and simple, yet forward moving with complimentary instrumentation. Great performances are needed as always and these songs must be broadcast quality. Their deal is a non-exclusive license along with mechanical royalties paid per unit sold. Wow Allen, this is very soothing! I think you've nailed it, I honestly don't see how this could miss.

Allen,Very beautiful and serene and relaxing! The textures are really nice and, IMO, right on the money for this type of listing.I do feel, however, that you are coming up short on the melodic aspect. The melodies in the sitar and santoor sound a bit wandery and improv-like, rather than composed melodies, at least to my ears. My absolute favorite part of the whole piece was from 3:55 on when you started to lay back and play just a few notes and repeated them a few times. If you don't have time to do anything (or if you don't want to) then I still think the piece is strong as it is, I just am not sure if it's melodic enough for this particular listing. But I could be (and probably am) wrong.This is a beautiful piece and it really reflects you.Good luck man! Great sounding stuff!Mazz

Hi Allen;Lovely piece! I enjoy its meandering, peaceful feel. Definitely relaxing.There were a few spots the sitar part felt low compared to the other instrument(s); otherwise I think the mix is solid.Of course, the song was so mellow all I could do was float along with it, rather than listen with a critical ear . . . so perhaps that in and of itself is all there is to say about it!Good on ye, Sitar Man! ,Suz

I'm "sweating bullets" over my lack of strong stand-alone melody for this listing. I wandered away from the melody at the half-way point because I was getting swept away by the bliss <sigh>. Hmmmm.... I wonder if there is is such a thing as too much love. Naaah! I'm gonna take my chances and flow with the heart chakra energy this time. Hi Friends,I just wanted to drop you guys an informative note about this song I submitted to the listing below:Indigo Dreams (a sitar and santoor duet) Some very smart people here in the forum told me that the song had some good things going for it but that the listing actually called for a stronger melody (but good luck anyway ). Well that advice turned out to be correct because the song was returned.The cool lesson here is that it is very important to know your genre & listing, and to be tapped into what the market is asking for. I'm glad to be learning these things! One of these days my songs are gonna push someone's button, but the key is to just keep on producing, growing, and refining all aspects of the craft.Thanks for your kind previous comments you guys.
