Absolutely great! Evocative; it really took me someplace! Not at all dated; great instrument sounds never go out of style, love those intervals in the vocal harmonies that 'rub'. Oh, and, " ...slips away like fog from water..." ? Such a poetic turn of phrase, I'm totally stealing that!

I agree... nothing dated about that. Great production too. I guess I'd like to hear the vocals brought forward in the mix just a tad though.Cameron

Wonderful, to my ears this is not dated at all. The lyrics slip so nicely into the music and the music really takes you away over the water. Great!Linzi

I want to thank you all for taking the time to listen to Ships Of Wood. This song is pretty much my life experience in a nut shell. Like Fire And Rain was to Sweet baby James. The song is doing well. It went to #1 on Soundclick World Celtic and #4 on the World Music chart. It stands at # 3 on the Broadjam World Celtic top ten list. Most people on these sites are young so you all are right the song must not be dated. I new when I came to this forum to hear from the music experts they would set me right.:) Thanks Mild Bill

WOW....this is beautiful.I'm going to Ellis Island for the first time on Tuesday (although I'm in New York half the year.) Your song is haunting and captures the wonder I think my ancestors sailing in from Sweden so long ago might have felt. I'm feeling the wonder as I listen to it.Beautiful...Lqrose
